Access has been restricted (Only The HoL cabinet, yourself and admins can read this) so we can safely discuss things in here away from prying eyes.

So are you still interested in merging?

It would solve some problems, but I'm not sure how the others would take it.

Sorry for asking, but what would be the point of it?

Well, the GC is a highly respected alliance...

Well, I want a strong, democratic, neutral alliance with the reputation of the GC.

A less bureocratic, more flexible one, with a clearer, easier to use, more practical forum and guidelines, one that attracts new recruits like a magnet, but can still maintain its neutrality and reputation.

I'm not sure how the HoL works, someone could enlighten me ?

In theory, anyone could join. In practice, we've enrolled those we personally approve of.

    Which is anyone.

Why all the drama about leaving and starting a new alliance if we're going to rejoin? It seems easier not to.

A merger would give us a boost in numbers which means more troops should something go wrong, the deal would also bring us a couple more nukes.

But aside from that it enables us to take advantage of the GC's reputation because (at least initally) we'll be seen as the GC with treaties so it'll be easier to gather allies.

But weren't we part of the GC a while ago?

    Why did we leave?

Largely because we wanted trade bonuses and the right to use nukes whenever we pleased?

    Pretty much.

The Grey Council is all about Grey. We wouldn't really be a Grey Council if we allowed other colours, which pretty much negates all that Grey crap. We also don't necessarily want to be neutral, which kind of messes that up. I also quite like my title. What would any proposed merger look like?

Oh yeah, I was going to finish all that stuff off...

A merger would involve us taking over completely and giving Frigo a cushy job and title as payment :D

Cushy job eh? Frigo, how's "Prime Minister" sound? :p Mind you, we do need a Field Marshal.

I don't see a merger happening though. It'd mean the 20 or so people currently in the GC wanting to join us and I don't see why they would. Because if they would, they would've done it by now.

Are we any successful with this? As stated before, a merger would violate the GC's philosophy in a multitude of ways.

    It would bolster our numbers, sure, but really now;

The GC is an idea, not an organization. We can't take the idea of neutrality and comraderie away from people. Even if the GC was merged with us, I'm sure that another neutral alliance would take shape in its place.

Probably, but it wouldn't have the integrity of the GC, 'cause we'd have that. :)

Well I'm not going to advocate a merger.

I actually think you guys are silly for considering it.
