Second Round Beta Tester Selection Over
If you didn't receive an NDA by now, chances are you'll have to wait for the demo for a chance to try out the wonderful world of Arcanum. 105 NDA's were sent out in the second round. (source: Heroman, Sierra board moderator)

Name feature at Gamespy
Gamespy has kicked up a feature on game development company names and logos. They ask various companies how they came up with their name and logo. They also ask these very questions to Troika's Leonard Boyarsky:

Leonard Boyarsky:: We are still using our original logo. When I set out to design it, I knew we wanted an industrial, early 20th century propaganda feel to it. I don't know why the industrial thing appealed to us, it just seemed to fit the name (we actually considered calling ourselves Troika Industries for awhile, but decided on Troika Games to avoid confusion). I suppose part of the reason could have been we were busy designing Arcanum at the time, with its emphasis on early technology and industrialization.

Main Site Update
A new creature has been added to the Creature Compendium over at the Official Site. We're now given info on the Gyr-Dolour, a species of small, soul-sucking reptiles.

Gameplay movie at Spelletjesgarnaal
Belgian gaming site Spelletjesgarnaal has a gameplay movie available. It contains comments in Dutch. Spoiler warning: The movie shows an awful lot of the initial area of the game. No real story spoilers are present though.

New Previews
The first Arcanum previews based on the beta are now coming online and today we're given over at IGN and Sharky Extreme. Though not much in the way of new info is offered, both previews are positive and use terms such as "must-play", "instant classic" and "the game to beat". This alone'd mark them as good reads in my book.
