Your Geekiest Endeavor

No I have not played that game yet, but I did play Diablo I.

It is based on the literary character Conan the Barbarian created by the American writer Robert E. Howard (Good stories), so perhaps I will look into it.

 

My favorite Diablo 2 Clone is, hands down, Titan's Quest. Just make sure you pick the expansion pack. It makes the game a tenfold more enjoyable.

 

I never finished Diablo 2 or any of it's clones. Played it up until act 3 or so and always managed to get caught up spending a fortune trying to get my old Amiga 500 going. Seriously I spent my childhood playing Cowboy Pete, Ishar and some bunny rabbit thing. Cowboy Pete was awesome.

Jaxx Jack Rabbit, perhaps? I remember a level a friend of mine created using the JJR-editor and Paint. It was a short version of Half-Life with "hand made animation" and unique landscapes. It was actually pretty good, considering his age and the fact that he tried to translate a FPS to a 2D platform game.

 

Win a was in my late teens or early twenties (can't remember) a friend had a Coleco Vision and a Trash-80 (TRS80...back when Radio Shack thought they could make computers).
I loved the TRS-80.
I'd go over just to play M.U.L.E. and Dragon Riders of Pern.
Always hated the delay of waiting got the casette to load.

Also, I once owned an ADAM computer.

 

No, I don't think that was it. Although I'm pretty sure we have that too... This one involved jumping in wells without any water and, well, that's about all I can remember. It might have been 2 player

In confirmation of my geeky Amiga love, I was having a look the other day and have 8 huge cases of floppies, 4 across and however many deep just of Amiga 500 games. Oh and I still want to buy a 1200 off eBay Mostly because none of the 5 RAM expansion cards I've tried work. Getting one would mean one whole MB!

 

*Loves Anne McCaffrey's books... cough* carry on...

So do I! I love the Harper Hall books, but Dragondrums does rather mark the point her work started to go downhill. Such a pity. I do so adore Master Robinton.

You know, considering your last effort involved Kim Possible, I am quite happy for someone to take up all the thread space as it were.

And no, it wasn't any of the Jazz Jack Rabbit series. Something else completely different I think...

 

I like any of Anne McCaffrey's books that don't involve dragons. The Pegasus books especially.

 

Any of her Pern series that I have read have far surpassed any of her Rowan works. Dragondrums is as far as I've gotten in my revisit of McCaffrey's work.

*Heh. Not possible, actually. Three was never produced. I just thought I'd ask about the series again, since she/he said that wasn't it, and then someone asked if it was the sequel to the game that it wasn't.

 

Heh, it wasn't released? I have a floppy here that reads "Jazz Jack Rabbit" and what looks like a 3... Who knows

It's a he btw. Never understood that gender neutral crap, I'd much rather people just got it wrong or used "they". Oh well, I'll get over it.

Yea, but then I read what TP wrote and thought, "Maybe I'm wrong".

Turns out I wasn't.

Funny how that worked out.

 

But it was in progress and the alpha was produced and leaked on to the Interwebs. After that it could have traveled back in time and landed in Charonte's collection, on a floppy somehow.

 

I have been watching alot of Dr Who lately... More likely though one of the other Jazz Jack Rabbits was magically copied onto a floppy before being magically replaced with Eye of the Beholder which was the 2nd best series ever. Maybe not but anyway
