Good Morning, I have a problem with the World Map. When I open it the map shows me the entire Arcanum world in the window and is pretty unreadable, instead of showing me only a portion. Do you know how it is possible to zoom it? This is what I did: 1) Bought Arcanum from GOG a few days ago 2) Installed the Italian translation (OK) 3) Installed the High Res patch and choosed a 1366x768 res (OK) 4) Installed the High Quality Townsmap (apparently nothing changes in the towns map) Do I need to install the Unofficial patch too? Welcome, gustup. Is the map also zoomed out when you are outside of mapped location and the map icon is blue?
Drog made all of his soft for english version only. So I think that italian translation and highres patch are conflicting parts. Also I recommend you to play UAP, just look at it's changelog, without it Arcanum is just a bugged piece of shit.
Sorry I was wrong. When the map icon turn blue, the world map is zoomed in and it shows the area around my position. So maybe it is normal to have the world map zoomed out when I am in a town?
It is normal, indeed. The map is zoomed in only when it is in travel/teleport mode. Nothing is wrong in your game. As said, Drog's the UAP is definitely incompatible with localized versions, so use it with the English version or not at all. The High Resolution Patch and High Quality Townmaps are less demanding modifications and chances are that they will not cause conflicts no matter the game's version, as long as it is has the official 1.0.7.4 patch anyway. I noticed you said that nothing changes after High Quality Townmaps are installed. While it is possible that the patch doesn't work for some reason, my guess would be that you simply didn't notice the difference. The change the patch provides can be said to be slight and can be omitted if something revolutionary is expected.
