I'd make a steampunk PC if I had the money. Unfortunately, brass is quite expensive, and while mahogany literally grows on trees it's still beyond my price range.

Also, I lack a workshop and most of the tools I'd need.

That's a beautiful steampowered computer keg. I wish I had the money, time, and equipment to make something like that. Oh, and I wish I wasn't lazy so that if I did have the stuff I'd actually do it.

Handicrafts is fun, there must be a club or something in this town I could join to at least continue with the knifemaking spree I was on in school.

I love making knives. My best work so far was the hunting knife I made for my father, which was stolen before I had finished the sheath. That sure ruined 8th grade for me.

Knife making? Bladesmithing is a fine craft. I had a forge I built back in hicksville but I was only ever able to finish one blade. I had hoped to work my way up to larger blades and other weapons. Alas, something about safety regulations, fire hazards within city limits, and a lack of a license had authorities force me to dismantle the forge.

Regrettably, I have never made any blades, only the handle and the sheath.

A friend of a friend of mine called André Andersson does this shit though. I have seen some of those blades, and they are just as awesome as the ones on his website.

He also made this gauntlet, called "Odin's Arm":

That gauntlet represents everything I've ever wanted to achieve except dictatorship over all life and ascension to godhood.

It's probably not very comfortable. Kinda like a nice pair of dress shoes: very stylish, but a pain to wear.

Armor that caused medieval jock itch while someone is trying to bash your skull in wouldn't be in high demand I'd imagine.

This may not be news to many of you, but Silvara's steam-powered heart t-shirt link reminded me of this shirt that a co-worker of mine bought. He was especially impressed by the billows-as-lungs aspect.

If I'd ever risk it committing robbery, I would do it for the sake of that desktop.

Fly into boston. That home is about 40 minutes south. And I'm about an hr west of the home if you need somewhere to hide.

    How cool is this?

A fellow named markf, over at the Brass Goggles forum, made a levitating terrarium.
    Here's his complete post.

Not as cool as many others, but at least it's mine, and didn't cost a dime. Built from garbage I habitually bring back to the lair.
