Cars roll sideways, they don't do backflips. And the roof hardness would make the moos go over the car, not into it, unless, idk, the thing had it's head down or something.

All I can say is that I'm happy it was a reindeer and not a moose that time 2,5 years ago. If you run into a moose at high speed, the odds are definitely not in your favor.

    What? No blood? Strange.

Somebody needs to "poster" one of those pics. I can't come up with a good enough caption and wouldn't want to taint the....moment trying.

There you have the blood. But I can tell you that the woman actually survived, she only broke a couple of ribs. According to the site I found it on.

Actually, the name Volvo was used because when the company started back in the early 1900s they made ball bearings, not vehicles. The ball-bearings, coincidentallly, happened to be iron. So, when Volvo started producing automobiles they adopted the symbol for the metal iron (you know, that pointing arrow thing?), and used it as their logo. Btw, I did mention that 1. I recited that from memory, and 2.I drive a 1996 Volvo T5R 854*?

*850 is the model number, 854 identifies it as being a coupe versuses an estate.

Yes, but as Blinky said, that doesn't happen too often when running into big animals like moose. Wait, I think Blinky actually specifically mentioned something about that only happening should the moose keep it's head down (read: hard object at low altitude) in the very piece of text you quoted!

Even then, I doubt the car would flip over as if doing a somersault, it would more like break the moose's neck like a twig and send it's body straight into the windshield.

The only way that would happen is if the moose weighed the same as or more than the car, and only if it was moving through the air at a greater speed than the car's current momentum. And even further, it would have to catch a strong enough point to begin rotation, as opposed to just cutting the animal's head off or ripping a part of the car away.

That's already been posted. Also, I'll post a pic of my Volvo once it's back from the shop. ^__^

DarkFool, you do realize that I posted it first, yes? My post was eight days before Dark Elf's, and for some reason noone took notice of that until it was posted again on the 16th by DE in another thread.
However, I want to see your volvo. No idea why, but I'm interested.

I should be getting it back wednesday... ^__^

p.s: it had a clogged PCV pipe, which was causing the car to pretty literally dump out all of it's oil. $400 for it to be fixed. I've a picture of me with the car. I'll see if I can find a digital copy of it.

Bah, they've changed it back to the original version. For a few hours there, they had this big spoof article about scientology (then again, the truth is just as ridiculous).

I wonder how many gems like that sneak into Wiki articles every day? I haven't really noticed until recently.

    Teacher accused of wizardry!
