Who needs a video game bashing

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - worst game of 2006. I've just wasted two days at playing this shit. Ugliest game ending I've seen - ever!

Detailed bashing tomorrow, I'm too tired now.

 

Good, I won't need to waste the money on it to find out how much it sucks.

 

You can get it in Steam,right? Good, now I will definetly not buy it.

 

- It does nothing to do with RPGs, and I hear neither with Might & Magic.

- There's nothing a kick can't solve. The game is full of spike racks, cliffs, walkways, open fires, fragile platforms full of barrels - Kickspamming is just simply dumb.

- You'll be afraid of spiders after playing this, that's for sure. I was a(n almost) pure melee character yet I had problems with the little fuckers and I can only imagine what a thief character would do.

- Xana is always giving hints, rendering any puzzle completely trivial.

- Freaking long loading times, especially annoying when you want to mess around with the rope bow (bow that shoots ropes) and you fall down.

- Character points are gained by completing the quests of the main storyline, not by fighting or any other activity.

- There are like 6 main types of enemies in the game.

- Completely linear levels, yet I managed to lost my way due to repetitiveness at the last few levels.

- Lightweight story, nothing surprising, you can totally predict the entire story after one hour of playing.

- There are only 4 end scenes (good/evil choice that influences heavily the outcome /you can choose right before the cutscene/, and the choice between Xana and Leanna, which basically influences nothing).

- Low quality cutscenes. Seriously, any six year old game did better.

- aaaaand it prevented Arkane Studios from making Arx Fatalis 2

 

After your rewiew the game sounds kinda..sucky.

I'll have to agree, it was a worthless game. It was amusing for about twenty minutes, at which point you've experienced as much variety in the fighting as you're going to. Not to mention that it really didn't feel like a M&M game at all. Most games with a lot of hype around them before they hit the shelves turn out to be piles of shit, but they still make mad money because so many people buy them on release day.

So i'm still alive and well(ish) by the way. Haven't been shot down yet. Haven't gotten to kill anybody yet. Haven't died of boredom. Yet.

 

I'm not going to speculate about the future until I know for sure that I'm not going to be extended over here.

 

My brother told me that he had buyed it yesterday despite that I told him that it isn't good. Now he wants to return the game but he can't because he broke the sealing or something.

 

Serves him right for being stupid.

 

I guess it runs in the family.
