    Well, that's the joys of public spending right there. I guess it's the same all around the world. Whenever they decide to make cuts in one area of the public sector, the subsequent poorer service in that area usually ends up in a pile of shit ten times more expensive to fix than it would have been to not make those cuts in the first place.

    Well with the $10 million we're paying Marian Hossa next year, we had to cut corners somewhere.

    Anyway, I was at that game. The zamboni blew a gasket and leaked transmission fluid all over the ice. The game was delayed about an hour while the crew "tried" to clean it up. But if you just tuned in on TV, it looked like someone ran over the big fuzzy Penguins mascot, Iceburgh, with an old rusty ice resurfacer. That or Richard Zhednik's throat was cut again.

    Sometimes, pregnancies just go terribly wrong. I once saw a documentary about some really bad cases. One of the fetuses, instead of forming into anything remotely human-like, had decided to become a round, fleshy ball with teeth protruding all over it (I haven't found a picture, but I swear, it looked like it was taken straight from a sci-fi). Fortunately, the mother never got to see it, just imagine getting a kid like that...

    In the Guiness book of records there is a Siamese Twin that had that as a twin. They cut it out when he was born because it was taking blood and not returning it (having only one heart pump).
