Is that a Nintendo scope to the original 8-bit NES?

Is that Duck Hunt he's playing?

If so, I bow in your general direction, sir.

Yes and Yes. I was going to let him use the power glove but then his power would be too unimaginable to stop.

I still have in my possession the very first issue of Nintendomagasinet, the #1 gaming magazine back in the day. Heck, it even had Super Mario Bros and Captain N comics, which the picture you linked to somehow reminded me of.

Gaming was a lot more fun back in those days.

Too bad that the front cover is missing, otherwise it would probably be worth a ton of money with the collectors within a few years.

I inherited some of those off of my cousin. They were awesome.

Now I'm stuck with this silly PC Gamer subscription. :/

Those magazines are so ridiculously expensive I would never dream of subscribing to them, especially seeing as most of the worthwhile content in them is freely available on the Internet anyhow.

However, it was actually PC Gamer that brought me to Arcanum. They had the demo in one issue which I just happened to buy out of boredom. Then I wanted more information on the game, googled it and ended up in a weird forum with a black and maroon theme.

That's so close to how I got into Arcanum it's almost scary. In my case, I bought a copy of PC Gamer with reviews of Arcanum and Baldur's Gate II. BGII was what I bought, but the memories of dwarves with guns and wizards in actual PANTS stayed with me, until the fateful day Harvey Norman stocked the Best Ever line and Arcanum...

Dude! We read the same issue! Except, I got mine from the library. I could tell even back then that this would be the best game evar.

I read the back of the box at Wal-mart and spent money I didn't have to bring it home. I had to live off Ramen for a couple weeks to survive... but so worth it.

I suppose you didn't get the demo disc though? I can't even remember if there was an article about Arcanum in the magazine, all I know is that it contained the demo.

Anyway, I interpret the fact that both of us got Arcanumized by the same source as an omen that your heart will be as black as mine one day. Have fun. :)

Kinda like the way I live now then. Black pudding and pea soup make up a rather disturbing percentage of my current diet.

Oh, yeah, I got the demo disc too. I figure it would still be around here somewhere, if I never returned the disc. I'll look for it now.

    *fights the obvious joke*

*fights it with every fibre of willpower she has*

    *SNAP!*

That is obviously a very lonely man.

*sigh* So much for my vaunted willpower. I'm just a punchline looking for a straight line.

The disturbing part about your punchline is that he probably wasn't lonely before that.

I'll examine those links later, when I'm not sitting in a dark room by myself.

I saw Arcanum in Best Buy and it was very cheap, so I bought it.
