In some areas yes indeed it is

in others its behind, Combat should start as soon as the creature starts to run at you to attack

Not when he is right at you

jureel> i think it was like that in the first beta, can't really remember.

but anyway i think the problem is that if someone would attack you, but you can't reach it, you will be in constant combat mode, and it will force you into TB for ages.

i know there was a problem like this in the first beta, and area with monsters locked up, or not accessable anyway, that wanted to attack you on sight. this made that area incredibly annoying, as you would never plunge out of combat.

personally i can't really see the problem, just hit space and you are on.

its not as you know that the running bandit will hit you once he is close enough really.

When I'm playing in TB and I get into a situation where the game is stalled because it is waiting for the monster to take its turn, I just switch to RT and continue on my way. That seems to work pretty good.

well thats an fix of a bug, imo its better to change it so that you wont get it.

still as you can run up to most, hit them, and thus start the combat, why should this only go for you? :)

Combat has been initiated, but my characters go through their turns and then the computer appears to be waiting for the monster(s) to take a round out of us. For myself anyway, this only appears to happen in maybe about 15% of my fights. Since the game won't continue while it is waiting like this, and I've tried the spacebar and the skip a turn button, I switch into RT so the games turns into a free-for-all. The monsters are probably still waiting to take their turn, but since I can attack continuously now, it gets the fight over and done with. Then I go back to TB and wait to see what the next battle brings.

um, i wonder if this is still in the final game.

can't see why the computer should wait for someone that doesn't move.

this was in the first beta test as well.

personally i just hit space bar, continued the action, and then hit space again. still its an annoyance.

The monsters that I have noticed it do this the most on and I remeber right now are the lesser/greater wyverns, the orc encounter and will-o-the-wisps. I think the board get hung up also, or at least one type of them. It doesn't happen with every creature without a graphic though.

No, only the ones without any graphics cause this problem for me. If I entered the combat with RT already turned on because I forgot to switch back to TB in a previous combat, then when I battle those monsters that I listed above then the fighting continues without any waiting.

I'll see if I can get a more complete listing tonight.

The only other monsters that I came across that caused this were a group of snakes lead by an elemental snake that cast fireballs. It was a lvl 32 creature. It had a couple of grunts with it. I came across a slime demon (lvl 25, neat graphics) before the snake fight and that is registered as the toughest thing I've killed. It didn't do anything except let me kill it. The snake tried to cook me.

    Death to RT, TB rules!
(yaeh, I know it is rabid, but someone has to say it)

Oh well, I used TB after the first few fights, and it worked very well (unlike TB in FOT). It removes that stress part of the combat that I don´t care about, and I like the combats that way.
