Where can I get some reqlly cool guns?

Can I do a master quest if I don't have any ranks in the skill I'm doing the quest for?

 

IIRC, you can do it without having any points in it, but I'm not totally sure. Someone who has actually gotten them should be able to answer that better.

 

Thanks to Shadygrove, I tried this for myself. Indeed, it is true, if you can manage to break into his basement and complete the course he'll give you the spectacles. I broke in at night, picking the lock on his door and using a fate point to unlock the trap door. When you get in there's a big ol' false doorway in front of you. Click it and you'll get the journal entry that says "Whatshisnose has agreed to train me if I can complete his training maze."

Handy tip: destroy all the doors in the maze. That's where most of the traps seem to be. Not all, but shooting them out just seemed to make it a whole lot easier for me.

 

I have a question about the Telsa Gun. Does it use a charge when you shoot it, or does it constantly drain charges, or does it drain charges only when in combat?

 

IIRC, it uses charges instead of bullets for ammo, and has no other charge-draining behavior.

 

You are correct, to fire you need charges instead of bullets. I was worried when I first made the Tesla Gun that it might use both, but my fears proved to be unnecessary.

 

Reminds me of the horror that overcame me when I first made a Flow Spektrometer. I had literally HUNDREDS of charges, and in ignorance I kept the FS equipped as I went from, oh I don't know, Tarant to Dernholm let's say. Bloody thing ate all my charges on the trip!
