I've stopped drinking almost everything but milk lately because its the only thing my latest salvo of medication can agree with. Milk got boring after a while so I started adding Milo or whatever else was handy and then I figured I'd just buy some flavoured stuff because I'm lazy.

And then there was a problem, whilst I can still get my beloved Vanilla Malt apparently nobody makes caramel milk anymore, its not like caramel is an obscure flavour or anything so I found it odd and looked into it and apparently the reasoniong is the colour of the packaging was to similar to Iced Coffee (which sold better than Caramel) and confused people so they dropped the one that sold less.

Couldn't they have just changed the carton?

Caramel milk? That's a new one on me, but it sounds tasty. Must have never caught on in the states.

It is tasty, hence why I've gone to the trouble of buying a blender just to make caramel shakes.

Be careful. I'll be going into a specialist the 17th for my medical needs (the "doctors" say it's just asthma, but I'll be flying down to Helsinki for tests...doesn't seem particularly sound :/)
You live near Adelaide? I had a friend complain of something like that.

I'm in Canberra, but I wouldn't be surprised if the shortage was nation wide.

I used to drink all of those... then I went lactose intolerant. Nobody makes chocolate acidophlous milk. :(

I worked in the dairy department of an east coast supermarket chain (Giant Eagle) for 7 years and I've never heard of caramel milk. We had regular, strawberry, banana, chocolate, coconut, and goat milk. No caramel.

I'm not sure if I even want to see caramel milk.

Milk is pretty much the staple of my diet though. I drink about a liter a day, meaning that I'll either die from a heart attack or share Mickey Mouse's fate in Life on Mars.

Exactly, it always used to be Chocolate, Srawberry and Caramel were the 3 mainstays and you might see Bananna if you got lucky. Then the abomination that is coffee flavoured milk showed up and ruined everything, coffee is bad enough hot let alone cold.

Amen to that. Man, caramel milk was nice, too. So was bananna, until the creation of choc-bananna, which was somehow popular enough to muscle the original out of the market, despite tasting like shit.

I'm lactose-intolerant, and so I've always had flavors in my milk to get the soy taste out. While I can't say I know for sure what REAL milk flavors taste like, my favorite in soy is strawberry. Followed by chocolate.

Alright, this whole soy milk thing has to stop. There is not a teat from which to milk the soy bean, soy beans aren't mammals, and I wholeheartedly agree that strawberry is superior to chocolate when it comes to soy milk.

I'm actually mildly allergic to soy. Dunno how, seeing as how soy is meant to be one of those things that you can't be allergic to, but there ya go.

Have you ever tried (if it's available in your region) acidopholous milk? It's milk that has no lactose in it.

Actually, allergy to soybeans and related legumes is sorta common. As least as far as food allergies go. I have a couple of patients who deal with it. It is meant more as a alternative to those who are allergic to lactose in milk, and has become more widespread thanks to hippies and vegetarians.

Though, my best friend's wife is a vegetarian and eats boca burgers all the time, and I must say they aren't really that bad.

Huh... well, there ya go. I guess David's mum owes me $20 next time I see her. She reckons that there's 'not a chance' that her soymilk pavlova caused my allergic reaction last christmas. I reckon that it's 'pretty bloody obvious', seeing as how I was fine while eating stuff that I consider to be actual food. (Meat. Yes. Vegetables. Yes, if a bit nasty. Soy replicas of real food? Sorry, I call bullshit on that.)
