Hi, by reading alot of stuff about arcanum I came to understand that characters that try to mix technology and magic are pretty much doomed to mediocracy in both fields. Now I just found a video on youtube where a level 32 halfling (seems to be legit as the guy who has done the video shows all his stats in the end) who uses magic (shield of protection, entangle, agility of fire) and technological stuff (fire obstruction, pyro bow and some tech armor) killing stingy pete without any followers in about 1 minutes time.... was this actually some kind of special abuse or is this really just a very good build witch manages to mix the best of both worlds together?? oh yeah, heres the link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=aVFR6gWLUa0
It's very possible to build a great character embracing both magick and technology. The trick is to use either those spells that don't rely on magickal aptitude or technological items you can't fail with. Thus, you can have a 100 MA sorcerer rocking the world with herbology, therapeutics and automatons, and a 100 TA gunman who uses the spells above and kick some serious ass.
Cool video, BUT killing Stringy Pete isn't that hard. I've done it with a single Half-Ogre basher in probably the same amount of time.
