    Yea, my two failings are using you're for your, and alot instead of a lot. I admit them and try to correct them, so open wide and suck a nut if they don't like it.

    Ellipses are a string of three (3) periods (...), never more, never less. They never signify a pause, that's what commas, semi-colons, and colons are for. They are used solely to denote an incomplete thought.

    For example: Well... I... don't... know.
    That's wrong. It should be "Well... I don't know," provided the ellipse is used at all, which would depend largely on it's context as dialogue.

    In terms of break length, a comma is typically one beat, a semi-colon two. A colon is a three beat break. These are very arbitrary, but they give an idea as to the general strength of each type of pause.
