why does someone always have to bring up this topic? this topic is so lame? it's always here? i'm not whinging about it, i'm just responding to your stupid question about my sig because i don't think i should be required to defend myself from all threats, real and imagined. so there. cuz i'm right. and you can't prove me wrong.

I suppose you can haxor your account and our ftp, give yourself admin status and change it back yourself like you did to change my avatar.

Jinxed, hacking the FTP woudn't help him unban his old account. He would need SQL access to do that.

Sigurd, actually, HoL did get hacked awhile back, but you may know that already. However, since HoL is using one of the more current versions of phpBB, it is unlikely that it will be hacked. By the way, HoL is two phpBB versions out of date. It should be upgraded.

 

i'm sure DU will get right on it after he finishes the million other thigns he needs to do... i feel your pain, DU, you're like a new mother, and TA is a screaming bitch of a baby...

 

Considering how busy he is, I would almost think that the House of Lords will milk DU dry sometime soon.

 

Actually, I was reffering to a couple of things.

If he gave me that avatar, he had to have access to the admin control panel of this board - He could unban himself from there.

I mentioned FTP access because the new updated avatar has found its way onto our server - Hence the haxoring of our ftp account.

T-A got hacked twice; a long time ago when most of you (including me) weren't around and we used 1.4 phpbb. The second time was around a year ago. If Calis doesn't see an upgrade as a must then it's not, he usually keeps intouch with such things.

DU has been doing a lot of work I agree. He does coding and he seems to enjoy doing news. But the real heart of a site isn't the code, it's the content which DU doesn't do and sadly none of us either.

 

Ah, I see. Except that your new avatar has a different name than your old one, so, unless he had access to the admin panel, the only way he could have given you a new avatar would be by replacing the old avatar's image with the new one.

 

I think the Jinxed AV carries the name of my Final Vega (read original SF) avatar. Either way, he had to have ftp access and admin over the board as well, which is basically what I said earlier.

I know perfectly well who did it - DU. I remember I was the one who created his Troika Cow avatar back in the day.

 

I was joking about having put the thing on there (as you well knew) I couldn't hack my way in or out of anywhere. I just like taking credit for such things, and occasionally asking to get my old account back. I *usually* post because I have something to say which I view as important, and not spam. I do spam a little still, though I do my best to keep it to a minimum, hopefully not at all. I like the new titles given to people, (and the changed ones) they are quite fitting (Xena with the faceless, Jar with the old frog, Jinxed with the FO2, etc). I just need to get my old account back, cause that one's got a better post count, though worse post content... hmm, actually, I think I'll stick with this one, that way when I get to 1k posts, Jar doesn't give me the "half of those were spam!" bullshit. ^_^ :lol: So forget the above requests about my S-A account, we'll just let it slip into forum history.

You know, Jinxed, I've noticed that you, Jar, and DU seem to have really loosened up since I was around here last. I remember that last time I left HoL, you were all kind of in one big friendship group, and all other members were the enemy, so to speak. What happened?

The trio which you mentioned, me jar du, we will always be very good friends and are more friends now than before. Nothing really changed except them getting on the TA bandwagon.

But as far as friends go, I glare at Dragoon, he hasn't done a single thing for the site and that just makes me sad.

 

Has most everyone else done something, besides contributing to the forums by posting?

Yeah, that's right. Being made a staff member usually means whoever is responsible for recruiting you is expecting some sort of effort from you to make the site better. Otherwise it would just be a title and a different avatar which is pretty weak.

Speaking of Dragoon, where has he been for the past few months? Did he say where he was going before he up and left?

 

Custom avatars were meant for people who contributed posts which were worthwhile to everyone here.

I have no idea. I dissapeared like that as well, but I'm back. If it continues I'll have to remove him and find a replacement.
