    Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh...

    This is.... Who the fuck cares if you can sit on that stupid chair?????

    (we used to talk about philo things, but not from such an idiot viewpoint. last time we discussed if the smallest AI could exist; we concluded that even if the smallest AI can exist, it is useless, because it also means the slowest adaptation)

    Meditating is not a method to solve your problems. It doesn't solve problems, like alcohol. And I've never believed in this balancing thingy. In my opinion, productivity needs stress.

    Don't confuse philosophy students with philosophers. The average philosophy student just paraphrases philosophy texts at every possible opportunity without actually developing any true philosophy.
    If a person who has never read a philosophy book says something that sounds like Socrates then you know they developed that philosophy by themselves.
    If someone who has read Socrates says it then how do you know if they are regurgitating it or if they truly comprehend it?

    One of my pet hates is people who go around calling themselves philosophers.

    You don't need meditation if you have a strong will power.
    You can decide anything without giving it a secound thought.

    I didn't say I was one of those, so I still intend trying meditation.

    Modern philosophers are just full of shit. It's really hard to find a smart and wise philosopher who is not a poser.

    I was in a philosophy class at Uni. Bunch of assholes and hippies. Worst part was, on the exam they said 'Describe your PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY in essay form.' (Emphasis very much mine.)

    I did so. I failed. They said that I failed because my philosophy didn't fit anything we'd studied during the semester. Excuse me? It's my personal philosophy, I'm not obligated to have it match yours.

    Needless to say I was quite shat off, and still am. No way in HELL am I going back to Uni after that bullshit. TAFE and on-the-job-training all the way for me.

    I meditate because of my willpower. In person, I'm quite influential and can be a bit overbearing. Deciding things without a second thought is not always a good thing. While I'm probably the worst representative of planned ideas, I know when it's prudent to think things through once or twice. This being said, I never think things through. At least, not until after I've done them. I have always thought of philosophy as something that could be a fun recreational activity, not anything you wouldwant a doctorate in. How useless would that be?

    The more I meditate the more I got confused.
    I can't help meditating when I've got bored, but I consider it one of my weak points. It revealed many things which made me tired of my life.

    I meditate about the things I have to do for as long as I can. It helps keep me from doing them.

    By the way, can everyone NOT steal my signature. Rosie's one thing. All you other losers-in-drag can go bite a bloody nipple and give back my idea.

    I refuse to jump on the band wagon with the johnny-come-lately's.

    So Hockety Pockety.

    By the way, anyone here who knows where that came from is okay* in my book.

    Do you have a sick fetish with maths / algebra / all that stuff?

    Hockety Pockety sounded awfully familiar, until I remembered my Higitus Figitus.

    Prove |tgA/2+ctgA|>1
    (old, old task from old, old algebra school book)
    If solved this, then solve:
    x=y+z.

    Well, it's 0:04, so something is not correct or not the best way, don't blame me.

    (oh.. and you forgot about that a<>0° + k * pi and a<>90° + k * pi where k E Z) (since with a = 90°, it would be obviously false)

    |tg a/2 + ctg a| > 1
    a=2b
    |tg b + ctg 2b| > 1
    |sin b / cos b + cos 2b / sin 2b| > 1
    |sin b / cos b + (cos^2 b - sin^2 b) / (2 * cos b * sin b)| > 1
    |sin b / cos b + (cos b / sin b - sin b / cos b) / 2 | >1
    |(cos b / sin b + sin b / cos b) / 2| > 1
    |cos b / sin b + sin b / cos b| > 2
    |ctg b + tg b| > 2
    (ctg b + tg b)^2 > 4
    ctg^2 b + 2 * ctg b * tg b + tg^2 b > 4
    ctg^2 b + 2 + tg^2 b > 4
    ctg^2 b + tg^2 b > 2
    c = tg b
    c^2 + 1 / c^2 > 2
    d = c^2
    d + 1 / d > 2

    now we can see that every d except 0 and 1 satisfies this.
    if d = 0, then
    c = 0 = tg b
    b = 0° + k * pi where k E Z
    a = 0° + k * pi * 2 where k E Z

    if d = 1, then
    c = 1 = tg b
    b = 45° + k * pi where k E Z
    a = 90° + k * pi * 2 where k E Z

    and they were excluded in the very beginning...

    went. to. sleep. urggghhhh.

    If you must bring your intollerable mathematics into this forum, please keep it confined to math related threads. Or die.

    Gut. I solved it similar way long ago. Now I used to solve such kind of math problems. Hungary seems to have good mathematicans. :)
