The higher your charisma the more followers you can have.

But wait a second.... after I had enough room for another follower, I went back to find Magnus... and there simply wasn't an option for him to join me.

    ??

Am I the only one who have never encountered a serious bug, except in the follower requirements ?

man, i had some epic bugs. they're part of the reason i never finished, actually. every time i would play, i'd eventually reach a point where a major character or plot point was missing, so i'd reinstall and start over.

No serious bugs other than the occasional install malfunction.

My worst bug was when Virgil left to see his brother's grave, and then he refused to join my party.
He said, "You...and the crash...and the blimp! Good God, woman!" So...I made everyone but the dog leave my party, then I alt-clicked Virgil and said to my computer, "Sic 'em, boy!!" It was a good death.

I myself haven't encountered sany major bugs, making the game impossible to move forward. Although I alwayshad to save several saves in places like BMC, Ashbury Castla and Ancient Temple because of the stupid archer bug which made my fallowers dislike me. Now I'm playing without fallowers (except my lovely undead dread crystal spider slave) and man, it's sometime a real relief. Fallowers can really be a pain.

There are a bunch of bugs in Arcanum, but the worst I've experienced is when you equip the dark helm, you magic alignment goes up, and stays up. Another is when your walking, then your character disappears, you look around for the character, and he's in the middle of water, and you have no idea how he got there. You can't get out of the water after that unless you have teleport.

I hate the water glitch, or the one when you appear on the wrong side of the sewer wall.

The second, that is the water thing, happened to me wen I was going from Tarant to sount eats )I believe I was going to Voriden or something like that) and accidently stoped rght after leaving the city via world map. Firstly it was funny, but after a few seconds, when I realised I have no escape, it stoped. Now that could e one of the reasons to always carry a teleport scroll.
ANd the first situation. It made me NEVER equip unindentified items, and reload when I do so. I believe that the Dark Helm and some cursed staff (Black Stone Staff?) are the only ones, which effect is bugly permanent, but just for beeing save I don't ever risk anyway.

Only the Dark Helm from Ashbury castle is permanent.

I'm afraid I can't agree with you, Vorak. I checked it just a minute ago to be sure and not write nonsense on the forum. The Blackstone Blade (I've mistaken it with a staff), which can be found in the forbidden sewers under Tarant, has a nasty permanent effect. Each time it is equiped, it decreases dexterity by 4, and unequiping, selling or destroying it does not cancel the effect, so a few clicks can drop dexterity from 20 to 1, forever.

He was referring to the Ashury Dark Helm, the only dark helm that's bugged to give permanent alignment and magick changes. None of the others are permanent.

I don't feel like looking for proof, but I'm pretty sure that Vorak was one of the first people I saw on this forum to say that the Blackstone Blade was also glitched.
