Wow! This forum looks quite the same as the forum they have at Neverwinter Nights... Anyway, this is not my question. I've recently bought Arcanum. I want to play as an elf, to start with (will probably have a half-ogre simultanouesly) I want him to be a bowman/meleeist with a bow, mace and a staff as main weapons. I also want to have some spells to back myself up in fights. What should I spend my points on? Is it impossible to change hair/skin colour of characters? I wanted my character to be a drow-like elf but noticed that no character customization was available. Is this configurable or not?
For a first run, magic should do fine. My first char was an persuasive elf magic user, with some points in bowskill & melee (there's some good bows around :smile. I have found no way to change appearance though
Dexterity to raise your combat skills. Strength to use the better bows. For Magic you need Willpower to learn spells and raising your Constitution gives you more Fatigue. Get Expert training in Bow as soon as possible.
No matter what type of character you're planning on using, grab Agility of Fire and Strength of Earth spells. As long as you have a reasonable intelligence (ie 8 or more) then you should be able to keep these two spells running constantly. Even if you plan on using a tech character, having a +4 Strength and +4 Agility basically for free is just to good to pass up. It's worth it, even though you'll start out slightly on the magic side of the aptitude scale.
Re: your .sig Milo Your sig is actually Revelations 22:7 or 22:12, or maybe even 22:20  [ This Message was edited by: LostSoul on 2002-02-07 09:56 ]
Just to be sure, I checked out the passages over at The Bible Gateway. Hah! Who knew that revelations could be so kinky when taken completely out of context? Revelations 3:11¹ Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. Revelations 22:7¹ "Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." Revelations 22:12¹ And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. Revelations 22:20¹ He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! ¹from the New King James Version. Thanks for making me check, though, Lost Soul. The quote in my sig is actually from the NKJV rather than the Revised Standard Version like I thought. I'll change it one of these days.
Carefull though, Revelations 22:18 & 22:19 are nasty.  [ This Message was edited by: LostSoul on 2002-02-07 11:02 ]
Its individual preference. Personally I like Dwarven Technologists or Half-Elven Thieves. I wish they made Female Dwarves, that would be so cool.
