It's "Return of the King". I also have to disagree with you there Kozmo_Naut - I don't think it was the best book of the series. I think it was the worst book. Sure, it had some good and really good parts to it, but it lacked the suspense of the first and second books. Now, the battle in The Two Towers at that fort...that's one of the best battles scenes I've ever read. It really drew me in. Return of the King wasn't nearly as personal, it was almost detached. Overall, it was the poorest showing in the series. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. I'd give it about a 6 out of 10.

I agree with Jarinor. The last book, while good, wasn't quite as enthralling to me.

The Two Towers was my favourite.

I'm on the last 100 pages now, and can't wait till I'm finished.

I am really looking forward to read The Neverending Story again...

I am reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series, book #4, and i can't remember the name.

But i recommend the series to any fantasy readers, cuz it has a whole new world and some new interesting races and ideas.

And Terry Pratchett rocks! The only reason i haven't read all of his books is that some were either not released in the US or they are very rare.

Currently in the bathroom I have The Tenth Commandment by Lawrence Sanders (mystery/suspense) and Beyond the Blue Event Horizon by Frederik Pohl. I've read them both before, but I can't afford new books.

If you like Adams and Pratchett, you might also like Red Dwarf by Grant Naylor (who is actually two people). It contains a few god phrases in Esperanto, too. You might also want to take a look at Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat series. Excellent sci-fi with a sense of humor.

I liked Two Towers better, myself...

Never Ending Story was good, but it lost track about halfway through and started being a random, rambling book. It made a better movie, for once. :p

But I promised Pratchett quote 11.5 hours and about 20 posts on this thread ago.

    Here's some Pratchett numminess.

He's an excellent author. The way he combines comedy with an actual plot is incredible - all of his books have the comedy coming straight out from the characters and the locales. He sacrifices nothing plotwise for the sake of humor.

I'll have to look into...most of the aforementioned books...Pratchett especially, comedy makes everything better.

Qilitikal asked what Hitchhiker was about, I answer: life, the universe and everything.(the answer's forty two, by the way)

Abortion? Really? Did they cut it up before it was released or something?

Back on topic... Let's see, I'm reading:
    • The Art of War - Jarinor keeps talking about it and I have it, so I'm reading it again.
    • Arcanum Manual - Reading up on the history of Gnomes and their lifespan, so that I can accurately write a history of Grayhills (sic)
    • Fallout Bible - Not really a book per say... But I'm reading it, in the hope that I get a WORKING private forum setup soon... *grumble grumble*
