Vorak, i think it's time to admit that you watch too much tv and you're currently experiencing the repercussions.
    With love.

No, Smuel, it's not a good time for a bot/troll comment,Vorak is suffering and we have to help him.

I watch fewer than 4hrs of TV a week and most of that is news and current affairs, I just remember things really well.

Okay then, what painting set a new world record in 2012 for an auctioned work of art?

    The Scream.

But this is all pointless in an era when anyone can use a search engine to find anything.

You'd think so, but in my experience the number of people who can't use a search engine to find things is staggeringly high.

Kids these days are horrifyingly computer illiterate, actually. They know how to log on to Facebook and some game sites, may know how to use an email provider but not even that is a given.

Apart from that they're helpless. They never had to use DOS, floppy disks or navigated web pages that may have looked something like this. They've been spoiled to uselessness.

You ask them to attach their projects to an email and send it. Half of them can't figure out what to do.

Yeah, they seem to become dumber as tech grows, as an example, in my high school the system handled provides that the older generations interact with the younger in order to have retro-feed and that kind of hippie concepts, and i've seen a lot now that kids barely know how to use a computer, not that they ask how to change the registry, but some of them, around 13 years are even lacking the skill of searching the internet in other place than Wikipedia, no only that, but they have even asked wtf was that once i was browsing this forum.
It is truly disappointing that tech has become a learning impediment rather than the tool it was a few ten years ago.

You know werozzi, if you write sentences that are shorter than, say, 100 words, it might actually be readable.

A common mistake with me, either too long or too short sentences.
I bid you overlook it please.

Since we are supposed to read it, it's kinda hard to overlook. Unless we should skip your posts, which I don't think is your meaning.

Young people have always been stupid, and old people have always complained about it, because they have always been stupid too.

Smuel, are you suggesting the reason the old argue with the young, and vice versa, is because they can't decide who's actually dumber?

I think it goes back to this:

Age doesn't matter. Now get off my lawn.

That, and not to mention, having the lack of experience with the extended use of the forbearer of floppies: cassettes. You had to rewind the cassette (take a loooooooooooong time) each time to replay the game.

Could there be any possibility that the lack of experience be one of the causes of the young people's stupidity?

No, it's their stupidity that causes their stupidity. Lack of experience is what makes them annoying.

What could have cause their stupidity that causes their stupidity? Is there any possibility that it could be caused by some heritage defects?
