I have http://www.imhosted.com/gold_plans.shtml in mind with either the Gold 1 or Gold 2 plan. Not too much, and domains are free, as well as subdomains. Also, there is pleanty of space and bandwidth, and I may host other people's website as well as my own. Does this sound good? Does anyone have any suggestions/comments?
$30-40? That's an awful lot of money for hosting, and an awful lot of resources you may not need. What on Earth do you plan on putting there, and are you sure something more modest wouldn't suit your needs better? Are you planning on starting your own hosting service or something?
http://positivefusion.com/plans.php Positive Fusion is an excellent host, although if you are not planning on using PHP it may not be the one for you, that is something of its specialty The plans you are looking at are way too expensive, those people would be ripping you off.
