Arthgon - I know which one you're talking about, but damned if I can remember the name.

My 2 cents: I always liked David the Gnome (the original series). Very well-drawn with detailed backgrounds and stories that were both child-simplistic and intelligent enough for adults.

I absolutely loved David the Gnome. Unfortunately the joy was overridden with great sadness, knowing that afterwards there was nothing else on my wonderful variety of 4 channels but American Gladiator and the mentally stunting show that I thankfully forget the name of that featured the vomit stained father that habitually picked his nose.

The Simpsons? Family Guy? Married With Children? All in the Family? The Cosby Show? Fresh Prince of Bel Air? Roseanne?

Gee, I literally cannot think of any show with an ineffectual father in the lead.

Whoa. Having read these past like 5-10 posts, I now feel decidedly young.

After searching, I finally found it. "You Can't Do That on Television".

I remember "You Can't Do That On Television". I also remember thinking it was utterly retarded and burying my nose in a book every time it came on screen. That was my childhood defence against retardation - books. No wonder I'm so well-read.

Way to go PDog. Don't you know that making a list gives Arthgon a raging erection. And the last thing I want to read is a horny Arthgon post.

I have a vague memory of the third one.
    I think it's a three, but I'm not sure.
It could be a blue for all I know.

Lol, Nils Holgersson. Old Swedish classic saga for children. Same author as Pippi Longstockings. Not that good, though. Didn't know it was on TV, haven't seen it here in Sweden.

    Selma Lagerlöf wrote Pippi Longstockings?

That sure is an interesting take on literary history you have there.

Shame on me. I'd better start thinking before I post, otherwise I might try to convince everyone that Snorre Sturlasson (Snorri Sturluson) comes from Finland and Terry Pratchett wrote H2G2.

I still can't fucking believe they chose Eoin Colfer over Terry Pratchett to finish the final Hitchhiker's Guide novel. It is a travesty!

Seriously, I cried tears of blood just flicking through that book.
