I've been asking this question several times before, but this is an official request of advice from anyone who tried walking the evil path. Is it possible to walk the evil path (as in join the cause of the Dark Elves) and still make a Mastery of magic in Tulla? If yes, how?

Do you know the map trick?

If not, go to an area on the world map near Tulla, then place a waypoint which crosses the city and press go. Just as your character is over Tulla press the stop button. If it worked you should be in Tulla, probably in one of the locked buildings from the Pelojian Quest. You may have to try this several times to get it to work.

Do this as early in the game as you can, definitely before you join the dark elves. I've only done it once but I had 1074 and was playing a dwarven mage on the 'Sold your Soul' background called Renbur Ironside, I still miss him sometimes.

From the Sierra boards I have learned two things: One, if you go to Tulla and kill the guard you will be able to enter; and two, if your charisma/persuasion is high enough you will be able to talk your way in.

I haven't tried either yet, but will do so next time I play evil. Worth a shot.

I think that if you use the trick you will get inside but you won't find the masters

If you kill the guard you can go inside, but everyone will try and kill you. I went in there and had to put them all to the blade..... the Bengalian Scourge demands much blood...much blood.

As I wrote before, by kiling the guard you will get inside but you will not be able to get mastery

Lord Coldwolf, have you gotten to T'Sen Ang yet?

If not, then your chance to join them will happen there.

Solaris, if you still care, yesterday I read that if you speak with the masters while invisible they won't be hostile, and you'll be able to do the master quests. Haven't tried it yet myself.

Hmm. While invisible? You mean like while using Whysper's gem?

I'd assume, or with the spell. I don't believe prowling would have the same effect, but I've yet to try any of it. Problem with the gem is that it might wear off and turn the master hostile at an inappropriate moment.

I forgot if I have to return to the master mage in order to complete the Mastery quest. If I do have to, the gem will definitely wear out.

Oh, you could try using that hexed ring that grants invisibility but drains your fatigue. Damn, I can't remember where it's found. The Bog, maybe? Gah. Well you know the one I'm talking about, right? :)

Will have to search. Thanks for the idea, anyway.
Its a shame you can't exploit the Meta abuse thing to fix spells on yourself. It only seems to work on your followers. :/

Just try it Coldwolf. Play evil. Really evil. It turns into a very different game.

As labyrinthian said; to join the dark elves (read evil elves) you need to be evil. Do things like killing random good guards, anything with positive alignments. Then when you talk to M'In Gorad you need to take the right dialogue options. and then she will give you a little test.

Once you joined the dark elves, tulla will be closed to you, but you can get in using the map trick.
