Using player names

I just love Arcanum, and have recently started to learn how to make mods.

One thing I can't find anywhere, (I've searched here, and on google...) is how to add player names to dialogue, newspaper and so on.

There must be a way to say have an NPC ask the player's name and give the actual name as an option, and then have the NPC able to greet the player by name.

I'd also like to add the player's name to newspaper articles. I'm assuming it's the same command.

Is there such a method, or am I stuck having all the NPCs say "Hey... you..!"?

Thank you so very much! Those documents are much more complete than the ones I've come across so far. (Granted, most of them were geared for beginners.)
