Just wondering if the unofficial Arcanum patch was worth it to install? I know that installing the unoffical install for Fallout 2 was well worth it! It looks like a lot of effort went into fixing many problems.
Nothing in your life was nor ever will be worth it more than installing the UAP. I once completed F2 with the unofficial patch and Restoration Project installed. Although old bugs were fixed, new ones appeared, most notably both map locations and followers had an annoying tendency to reset (a bug I read about appearing in the normal game but never encountered myself), making it hard not to abandon the game out of frustration. Not sure what was guilty, the unofficial patch, the Restoration Project or any of the polonizations of those, but it left a horrid aftertaste of anything unofficial installed on my Fallouts. Keep in mind that the UAP is free of this.
The extremely detailed changelog should be self-explanatory, no? If a myriad of bugs being fixed isn't important to you, then this patch isn't worth your time.
Sorry I don’t speak English very well so bare with me. I just registered here to thank Drog Black Tooth for his amazing work on this project. Man, honestly I no idea how did you manage to do all this work alone and without proper tools. As a moder I know how hard it is to fix hundreds of bugs using only your wits and hex editor. Unfortunately, most people doesn’t know that and they don’t know to appreciate your work and what did you do to for Arcanum community. Thanks again and I looking forward to see your next project. @ Sir Frank Yes, it's worth it. This is the best, most professional fan made patch I saw in my life and I’m not a kid, I’m 29 years old.
It is definitly worth it. However, is it still available? Did Drog delete it when he buggered off or not?
Yes, it is still downable and is not deleted from the downloads section. Drog is still here...well sort off.
This unofficial patch is a horrible hackjob. I can't see why any sane person would use it. Not to mention that it adds a lot of shitty fan-made content, like elven sex, a sword from Final Fantasy, etc.
You know, if I knew about the Elven sex, I probably would've actually installed and tried UAP. I really ought to do so.
