Upon arriving at The Pit of Fires, you will encounter four adventurers standing beside a small fire. If you ask the only human member of the party who he may be, he will reply: "I am Jyheirad! Noble warrior from Flame Keep! These are my brave companions, Morrawynd, R'yn-Diak and Frondo! Who might you be?" Here is a screenshot of such a scene: I believe the name Morrawynd is probably a reference to The Elder Scrolls, which has featured a land called Morrowind since the first game of the series, The Elder Scrolls: Arena. A map can be seen here. As for Frondo, I'm of the opinion that it's a more than plausible reference to Frodo Baggins, a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium.
And next I suppose you'll point out the similarity between the main character and Jaheira, and the organization The Flaming Fist, for whom you do work in Baldur's Gate. Damn, My mind is totally blow.
Hmm. Better than nothing, even though the Kyrandia games weren't RPGs IIRC. At first I thought it was a jab at fantasy clichés, but it might just be a hint at some designer's favorite games.
