troubleshooting problems

    i have installed arcanum succesfully. but i cant seem to let it work in my pc. when i'll start to play, the screen flickers and it just goes back to the desktop. my hardware specs: s3 savage4 32mb vid card, 224mb of ram, pentimuIII 450mhz, my mainboard is M748LMRT pc100. please if anyone knows how to deal with this problem, i really need help on this one.

    that's happened to me a couple of times but when i've tried to play it again straight away it loads as normal so i can't help you there sorry

    If you're having problems even running Arcnum shut down ALL programs except for Explorer and then run Arcanum. It should load normally. You won't have to shut down all programs the next time you want to run it (at least I didn't).

    Try running in safe mode, also check out the Sierra tech support boards (I think?).

    Well, just follow what dragoon and Jar said, Close everything except for the explorer (U know how to do this, right? Just Ctrl-Alt Del once and endtask everything except for the explorer). Then run it, if it still doesn't want to run, give it a car it will be faster, :smile: just kidding.

    If it run slow, download the direct X applet(look for the site in an earlier thread here..) and change the directX sound setting or something, bring it down.This works for most of us here experiencing slowdowns.. Hope this helps... :nod:
