    Hello Mates!

Just need a bit of help regarding the Alberich Altar ... I can't give the bloody Lava Rock to get the Blessing ... Any Suggestions?

My apologies in advance if I missed something simple.

You didn't say what message you receive when you attempt it - that's key.

"You have received the blessing of Alberich." [whoo-whoo]
"You have already received his blessing."
    "You have been cursed."
"He does not accept your offering."
"You have recieved the blessing of the all-father, [no soup for you.]"
    etc.

Thanks in advance mate for replying ...

Actually at the altar itself when I click on it, it gives me an inscription but not the box to drop the Offering (in this case a lava rock) onto it like the first 2 altars I did. Just wondering if there is someone I was supposed to talk with before I make the offering or something that I am missing that shows my stupidity and we all can laugh =)! (at me that is)

    Thanks again jfkoski

Like all relevant altars (excepting the broken 2), there's an inscription panel and a box. Maybe it's down-low for dwarfs.

PS: I don't know what the foreign two have (i.e. one's in the void).

Scratch that. Velorian's doesn't have a box, just an action circle, and a sign.

By Alberich, can't you find the altar? :D

LOL down low for Dwarves that made me laugh my arse off ... with your help I found a dillemma for me. I can see the inscription stone but not the altar in the game time ... but with you triggering the only brain cell I have left I looked into the overhead map and it shows the altar in front of the inscription stone. Evidently, I can't see it yet even with the bloody glasses on or again the last brain cell thing =P. Thanks again for your help mate I will let the forum know if I see any changes whilst I play on sir =)!

    Have a great day jfkoski!

That reminds me. Has anyone fixed the overhead map for the mine, or can it be fixed with the editor? Where the miners should be standing I get a square error box. There's a similar problem in another "town" map when you go underground.

Not yet. I'll look into it. It should be correctable at least on an individual game basis with WorldEd.

    Which one?

I'm thinking it has an altar and/or zombies coming out of the ground before you find the stairs. North of the mountains or the dragon pool or the Temple of the Derian Ka.

So do you fix it by using "build a town map" or similar feature?

Well, that certainly narrows it down.

Yes you do. In WorldEd, go to the area of the (play) map you're wanting to alter and right click to bring up a menu. Choose Town Map.
A condensed menu will appear that lists the townmap for that area. Below the listing is three buttons. Generate Data, Cancel, and OK. Generate Data is the one that creates the townmaps.
Click it and you'll get a pop-up warning that that asks "Are you sure you want to generate the game data for this town map? All existing data will be destroyed." Click yes and it will automatically begin making a new townmap.
When it's finished, exit WorldEd and check the result in the game.

One thing though - Way back when I tried to expand the Blackroot map and got a weird, jagged-edge mess. Be sure to have a copy of the original townmap before you overwrite the existing. Just in case.

Edit: The Wheel Clan is map #5006
    The miners are at 353 X 118
The townmap is Wheel Clan 3
In the Sierra/Arcanum/modules/Arcanum.dat/rules folder is the townmap.mes. Add [w] to the Wheel Clan 3 listing to see the entire level at once.
    Create the new townmap.
Rig a teleport cheat to pop in there with the miners and check out your work.

Of course - If you're lazy, I do have a perfect copy now....

I checked all the ones I thought it might be but couldn't find it so thought it might be a one-time glitch. But now that Kree is mentioned, that could be it!

Thanks for your help, I'll give it a try.
