Fatman - the first song you quoted, is the main song from the musical "Man of La Mancha" - about Don Quixote. The lyrics are near and dear to me on many levels.

Speaking of Arkansas: a state report the other day showed that in the 2000 census, 29% of Arkansans over age 24 don't have a high school education.... and nearly 11% don't even have an 8th grade education! That doesn't even count the 18-24 age group!

And they were proud of those figures, because they are an improvement over previous figures!

I gotta get out of this state! Illiterate, inbred morons everywhere! GAH! Save me!!!

Thanks, Sheriff! I like the "rock" take on it. Although I have to admit I am partial to the original version from the musical, maybe only because I grew up with it, so it's sort of part of my "life's soundtrack."

Nevertheless, if anyone was going to make a cover of it, I'm glad Carter USM did, it was very nicely done!

 

Sheriff, keep it up till tomorrow at least, ok? My online time limit for this month is almost depleted.

 

Tell you what, I'll take it down and install some music app or other on my new machine, then reduce it from 7MB to something a bit more manageable for bandwidth challenged users. I flinched when posting it, anyway, but it was the only copy of that track Lysa's KazaaLite found. I can't rip it, because I only have my Carter stuff on tape, not CD.
