Yes, Lord Arthgon. Right away, Lord Arthgon.

I now vote for the Borat avatar as well as the message for Arthgon, he's protesting so much he must really hate it. Not that I particularly want Borat's weird face eyeballing me often when I come to this forum, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

I'm still vacillating on that one. Maybe we should flip a coin.

Here's what I came up with for the Borat avatar, then again I'm not the best person at resizing images.

EDIT: Polishing up the picture a bit.

    Just to clarify:

Me, Yuki, Smuel, Zanza, Wayne and Gross are for the Borat avatar (6 yes)

Muro, Grakelin and ytzk are against (3 no)

Japes is still undecided and no one else has stated a preference. Arthgon doesn't want the avatar, which is in my mind a partial yes.

Anyone who skimmed through at least one thread revolving around granting a custom knows stating opinions about your own custom-to-be is the quickest and surest way to not getting one at all. Now, Arthgon, he not only witnessed but actively took part in several such threads himself.

And yet we see him ostentatiously sharing his likes and dislikes when it comes to his own theoretical custom. There are but two options here. One is that he's a hopeless idiot. The second - that deep in his heart he doesn't want a custom and does whatever it takes to avoid getting one. Out of courtesy, I'll dismiss the former and assume the latter.

Now, Arthgon receives a lot of harsh treatment from the House. Both his intellect and linguistic skills are regularly and mercilessly insulted in a most barbaric manner.

For all the shit that has been shoved at him, I say let us, for a change, do something good for the man. Let's, just this once, make him happy by doing just the thing he wants. Let's not give him a custom avatar.

Are you sure that's what he wants? Really? He clearly does want an avatar. I say he gets one. However, he, like any one of us, would like an avatar suited to us*. That is why Borat is a good idea.

    *Look at mine. Seriously.

Actually I would vote for the Borat avatar, and I was recently vaulted for daring to nominate him for one in the first place, but I don't get a vote because I'm not an avatar holder and neither are you.

Rule one, only the old guard may vote or discuss customised avatars. And now I withdraw according to standing orders.

By the way, ava+tara = lit; 'over'-'crossing'. 'Ava' carries a downward connotation as well as references to crossing over a mythical river seperating the material and astral realms. Tara is an ancient root word which we use also in english, as in transport, trolley, train, trail, travel etc.

In that case it's Zanza and Gross for, Muro against, and Japes on the fence.

Honestly if it would spoil Arthgon's time here then I guess I wouldn't want it forced on him. Then again if he's forced to have an avatar he doesn't like and he's the first one to have it finalised, if the rule ytzk mentioned holds then he'll get to inflict similar unpleasantness on other people. Personally Arthgon reminds me most strongly of Zoidberg, I guess for similar reasons to Borat but Zoidberg is more endearing than Borat.

Gross, are you suggesting Arthgon is an idiot? Most impolite, that.

But so be it, I'll appeal to your train of though for the moment by saying the following:

Should an idiot be granted a custom? What testimony to the community and its elaborate avatar system would that be?

Far from suggesting he's an idiot. Borat is a character created by Sascha Baron Cohen, who is argued to not be an idiot.

He's paid his dues like everyone else, and his sentence structure has actually improved over time. He even seems more coherent.

    Zoidberg? I can see it.

However, I'm at a loss for an adequate slogan.

I enjoy that Frederick Frankenstein pic and slogan for Philes.

    However! For Arthgon;

That particular Zoidberg picture is far too badass looking to suit Arthgon. And I'd put "all your base" in a similar category. Clearly the Borat photo suits him best, and even the people who've voted against it agree - they just don't want him to have any custom avatar for other reasons, so suggesting alternatives isn't going to change anything.

Having chosen the most voted avatars for Arthgon and Philes, O Jungle Japes, what picture do you now suggest for Wobbler?

The inference was in reference to my previous post, not Adolfo Pirelli.

    So can I.

    As ytzk's avatar, that is.

120x120 is the default resolution of a custom. I approve of the pic, therefore I suggest the following cropping:

For the record, I do not.

Should Arthgon get a custom - and he shouldn't - in order to be fitting it should have "I do not understant what you say to me, ever" written all over it. Think derp, or pidgeon.

Not a badass? Sorry, but as you know, I was sufficiently involved in street fighting and knife fighting. Not that I am proud, but still. Also, I have overcome my addictions.

Me an idiot? Wrong. Maybe not a scientist like you. (IQ 126) but because my English was fucked by a translation site. Now? None at all. Because I could really do without.

Why? Well, everyone thought it was funny that strange kind of English. So, I thought it was okay. And I had quite a few setbacks in those 4 years. Many friends and relatives were then deceased. So that also had much influence on anything.

    Sorry about that weird English.

Bingo. But I know people wants to give me one. What is with Zoidberg?

Edit: Gross: If you really want to do a title that has to do with the Netherlands, you better do something like 'Double Dutch'. That is better than 'Hoe gaat het heren?'. Yes. I have at least a sense of self-mockery.
