As the years go by i find myself yearning for the days of yore, where games were games and they were still fun. A Golden Age of gaming, I had the great honor of growing up during this time as i am sure many of you have had aswell. An age of fantastic adventure games (Quest for Glory, Kings Quest, Kyrandia, Leisure Suit Larry, ect) and mind blowing in depth role playing games (Baldures Gate, Ultima, Arcanum, Fall Out, Krondor, ect.) and of course the smashing slashers and shooters (Diablo, Doom, Quake, Blood, ect.) It seems to me anymore that this age has come to an end and all thats left is what we have before us now and our memories. Such as we still hanging about old sites of even older games. I feel that these new games for their realistic graphics had given up something more meaningful. Thier soul, content and....well fun. I cant even get through a game anymore with out getting bored and bitter that i wasted money. fable 2? Bored in a week, Fall Out 3? i played it a few years earlyer with morrowind and oblivion. Final Fantasy 12? Why do all the characters look the same since 10 and wear less clothing? Maybe its just me, maybe i am just getting to old for this kind of stuff. Maybe its my wife and two childern making me crazy. Or just maybe video games these days are really just that beat and all we have left is our old, scrached up disks and mods. Am I the only one feeling this? Am I all alone?
