No. Our word for warrior is "krigare", and swedish resembles much of both german and saxon.

I'm intrigued now. How do you say "war"? Does it begin with "kri"? Because in Spanish, "warrior" is "guerrero", and "war" is "guerra".

    Incorrect.

K-niggit was the true origin of knight. Wolfsbane wins an all expenses paid trip to castle Anthrax (send your details along with a shrubbery to cover handling costs).

Well, war is, in fact, "krig" in Swedish and "krieg" in German. The proper word for "knight" is "riddare" or "reiter", the later being german. The word comes from "rida" or "reiten" wich means to "ride". Funny how it comes together, eh?

    But "í" is not the same as "i"! - í - and - i - í and i!

Let's just call it "Ni!" and be done with it.

Yeah. But English is a funny language. Because it could also be "knee".

Thanks for the info, Wolfsbane. "knight" is "caballero", but "ride" is "cabalgar"; nothing to do, huh? "Caballo" is "horse". Still nothing to do. And you also have "rider", which would be "jinete". And that's how we see that definitely, it has very little to do.

Well, a word always has very little to do. Although that might depend on whether it is a European word or an African word.

Whatever love of German I may have once had was thoroughly beaten out of me by High School German classes. They were compulsory and the teacher was a total bitch.

I love german and want to learn it, but do not have enough time. By the way, Wolf, you have once said you hate german?
