Thief quest at Madam Lil's...

When getting the quest to steal Cassie's jewelry I always end up killing the halfling maid to finish it. Is there a way to do this without killing her, she never seems to leave or go to sleep?

 

I always had to resort to invisibility. She still hates you but....

 

Can't you just talk to her to get it back? That's what I always did.

 

Even on some of my more socially inept characters, I've been able to convince her just giving me the necklace was a good idea.

Of course, maybe Philes and I are thinking of something different, since that maid isn't a halfling, from what I remember.

 

Thief quest, gentlemen. It's an Underground quest.

And no, I've never been able to get it without having to resort to violence.

 

Well I guess there is an alterantive:

- If you're alone...or at least have your followers wait very very very very far away (i.e. the other side of town)....you could "lure" her away by dropping an item nearby...perhaps in the room across from her.... When she leaves to go pick it up you quickly pick the lock on the chest its in. That will get you away without blood on your hands...you good thief you....no go sleep with a clean conscience. I only managed to do this once a few months ago so it could be worth a try.

- Another silly possibility will work if you have Nature Magic and some anesthitizer. Cast control beast on any wild animal that is reasonably tough. Bring it into the room with her and use the anesthetizer on it to knock it out. With the spell cancelled and the beast knocked out....you go outside while it should theoretically kill the main. And hopefully nobody else. Head back in...dispatch the beast, get the necklace and then ressurect the maid. She should be okay with you, altough she might have gotten pissed seeing you attack your companion.

 

I must try this one. Should I go UAP or vanilla flavoured?

 

I don't think it matters really...but I'd try vanilla first.
