If you hadn't heard about the train crash it's because you don't follow the news.

The article seems outdated though; the latest death figure I heard was a hundred-something. No small number, but down from the initial prediction of 3000.

Most of the experts (not defectors) I've heard have dismissed the assassination theory. Do you get cable? Or the BBC World News?

I guess I just missed it or something. I usually listen to npr almost 24 hours a day... Last few days I've been running around getting ready for that bike trip I told you guys about.

This forum is a mere 2 weeks away from the begining of of me not being here, by the way.

I went and got some news papers out of our recycling, and yeah, I found an article or two.

Train crashes happen nearly every week. Why should I care about this one?

I don't see what the big deal is either. In fact, I don't even consider 2000 people dead to be hardly a noteworthy count, either. Now, a newsworthy death count would be if a city of, say, 10000 was destroyed, and none were left alive.

2000 people didn't die though, this article is out of date.

But seriously, you guys are ass holes. I hope you die in a train crash.

Pesonally, I didn't give a damn. Actually, I was happy because it got me out of some schoolwork. It's not like there aren't enough humans to go around.

Why? The only use of growing a heart is to have it broken.

Xento, please go kill yourself. The world will be a better place without you. After all, there are more than enough humans around.

My point is that, when people die, what use is it to whine about it? They're dead and bitching won't bring them back. I never said that I agree with murdering, or suicide, or anything else that kills people, but once they are dead, who gives a shit, and why should they give one?

We just had a discussion linked to this at the RPGCodex a few days ago. On the topic of suicide and its illegality, I commented that "suicide is bad for society, you can't just have people offing themselves..." and I then realized that I was wrong, in part due to Jarinor's reply. If someone wants to kill themself, why stop them? It would reduce "overpopulation" (just something for the libs to think about, I don't believe in the concept), possibly prevent crimes, and free up resources for other people.

I think we should at least try to talk them out of it, I mean, with first attempts especially. Then after hearing all the arguments we have for them to live, if they still want to do it, then they can go ahead and do it, but the state doesn't have to cremate their ass, they just let that shit rot.

I guess none of you have any compassion for your fellow man. I know that right now, if at some point later in my life, some type of occurance causes me to want to take my life, I want someone to talk me out of it. I hope its none of you.

I was being somewhat facetious when I asked "why?" If someone I loved was trying to kill themselves, or someone who seemed they may make a contribution to society, then sure, I'd talk them out of it.

Umm, on a bike trip from virginia to oregon for 3 months, over a trail that totals 4200 miles, and yes I know that is not the shortest route, but it is one of the most scenic.

I just felt like putting my view on how to stop World OverCrowding, and Sleek's post is quite effectively adressed by it: I think that we should nuke the 20 largest cities in the world. That would drop the population of earth to about HALF what it is today. Oh, Sleek, if you carry that trip into Washington, let me know, because you'll be passing my house. I'll go out side, and get some flags, and cheer you on... or perhaps go with you, and ditch this place... :) Anypoint, I have compassion towards my fellow man, that's why I want to kill over half of them. How, you say, is that compassionate? well allow me to explain, if I kill half the world's population, then the other half will have better lives, because of more plentiful resources. See my point? :) (I am going to get SLAMMED for this one, lol)
