When you're at university, you're old enough to drink. Unless you go to university before you're 18 that is..

Diet Coca Cola has actually been known to make me puke. The shit is just downright nasty. I haven't even touched Coke Zero, not after seeing a normally calm (if sarcastic) friend get a major caffiene high off the stuff. NO THANK YOU.

Just checked. According to the text on the bottles, it's Scanian sugar in Swedish coke.

Of course, I haven't done enough traveling abroad to really tell the difference in taste between nations. I suppose I must have had Coca Cola between beers when I went to England, but I didn't pay any attention to differences in flavor.

All of a sudden I feel much less socially unfit with my minimal alcohol consumption.

I was originally gonna say "Wine, coffee, cola..." but you'd think I was being serious, and not referencing ShamWow.

If you manage to get yourself REALLY overweight, does that make you a Swasian Meatball?

Xz: you mean to say you didn't drink at her age?

In retrospect, drinking myself into an unconscious pulp lying in his own vomit was a pretty bad thing to do at age 16, especially since it happened fairly regularly for a while there.

Then again, sound judgement is based on experience, and experience is based on poor judgement.

I was always curious how someone can consider that worth it.

That was my hard learned lesson. It only took three episodes.
    1) Chasing beer with SoCo (can't even stand the smell of Southern Comfort now and that was 20 odd years ago.)
What really made this bad was the situation.
On TDY. Extremely cold nights mixed with overly warm 2 person huts. Laying down leads to bed spins. Go outside to puke. Cold air stops need to puke. Back to bed. Rinse. Repeat. A very miserable night.

    2) Puking up mostly undigested steak and chunky homemade potato salad. (Unbelievably painful.)

    3) Three day hangover from a road bachelor party (also served as primary validation on the 'don't mix alcohol types' adage)

At this point I finally learned that these things make any fun I had getting to this point null and void.
Now I only get faced once a year, but I avoid getting puking drunk.

Yet somehow it rarely is a one time situation from what I observe, and one could think that learning that mistake would be enough to not repeat it, or there would be something about it that actually is worth the consquences. Than again, maybe it just works like a little self-made amnesia.

    1. I'm gonna get drunk, it surely won't end up as bad as the last time.

    2. :24 hours later:

    3. ...Oh shiiiiii...what was I even thinkiii...

    4. Some time passes, then return to step 1.
