Now apply the concept to everything that everybody else has ever said.

I was being sarcastic, you idiot. Of course anyone could come up with any bullshit like that if every and any word could mean everything at the same time.

    Humans, eh?

We are so teeny tiny and short-lived and powerless in a mind-bogglingly gigantic universe (I mean really, really big; you might think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's peanuts compared to space) and yet we spend our short, miserable lives fighting about our convictions.

You have to laugh, really, or else you'll cry.

I'd never let that happen! That's why I have no convictions!

Well, you're also a robot programmed to bicker and insult, according to your own words. So, trust me, the human condition is ridiculous.

Peace and love, everyone. Here we are, farting around the very same planet at the very same time. We're practically brothers and sisters.

Heh, now I'm seeing adverts for autism therapy at the top of this page.

It IS acting as an individual. Nerve cells aren't controlled by the mind. If anything the mind is controlled by nerve cells. Although it would be more accurate to say that the mind is an emergent property of nerve cells.

Well... yes. What do you do? No doubt just throw up your hands and say "The mind is something far to difficult for me to define. I can't even tell the difference between my own thoughts and other people's. I don't know what the mind is, but if I can't have a definition of it, then Smuel can't either! Ner!"

I don't know what he's going to say, but I'm pretty sure he's going to delete whatever he says before I can read it. Which amounts to the same thing in the end.

Man, Cleverbot's smarter than Xyle, anyway, though I wouldn't exactly call that a Turing test!

Geez, I spend the weekend with my lady and this is what happens? An argument about a hive mind?
Though it could be said that people share what appears to be a collective consciousness, as do ants, termites, bees, naked mole rats, etc.
Perceptions lead me to believe there may be a collective consciousness, logic leads me to believe there may not be a collective consciousness. Which do I choose? Hell, I'm going to leave it to chance and just flip a damned coin.

Hey, Smuel was agreeing with Xyle! Even if I didn't believe in some form of omega-point super-organism evolution pattern in the fractal geometry of the cosmos, then I would still have to oppose such an alliance.

Also, on the matter of evolution in Genesis, modes of logic in mysticism, hive-mind evolution and the very fact that we're bickering in cyberspace, integrated and selecting memes from around the world, I refer you to this chap...

Actually it seems to be accelerating, yet time seems to be slowing.

Could our little collective be approaching critical density? (Pun intended, btw, I'm not that autistic.)
