Well, this is something slightly based on a mod idea..

Basically, a new continent has been found to the west of Arcanum (We'll call it the new world, because I don't have a better idea :p). It's original inhabitants, which, in ancient times, were the same as the races of Arcanum, have evolved differently over the time they've spent split from the others. The races would be:

-Moon elves (Darkish bandit elves that excel at thievery, persuasion and gambling - kind of a sly type of elves that think of their own good and manipulate the world behind the scenes to satisfy their own goals..)

-Bandersnatches (Humans with bluish skin that represent most of the New World's magickal power, they are often obnoxious but are bound by honor, with a similar honor code as the Samurai of medieval japan..Kinda Bushido)

-Mountain Elves (Very much like Dark Elves, except they work together with dwarves in mountains.. They are the dark paladinish people, with an inclination towards stone and necromancy)

-Medusae (Semi-Orcs that live by the rules of nature, preferring to inhabitate deep forests. Their villages are sometimes plundered by "true" orcs who despise their paganism)

-Trolls and High Trolls (Trolls are another form of ogre, except more well-proportioned and much more dangerous. The High Trolls are their half-human cousins, with human-like intelligence and the capability for magick and technology, rendering them a threat of their own.)

The rest of the races are pretty much similar to the original Arcanum..

    The geography:

Because of the theme, the New World is shaped so that it "fits in" with Arcanum. In the cold forests and mountain ranges of the north, there exists a rather sizeable High Troll population, with outlying "ordinary" troll camps, In the east, at the coast nearest to Arcanum, the moon elves and neutral races run a newly-established trading community. In the west, in more mountains, mountain elves and dwarves work out different unique ores that they trade with Arcanum. In the centre, surrounded by Orcish and medusae forests, the great citadels and pompous metropoli of the Bandersnatches lie, waiting and watching..

The story: The explorers of Arcanum that discovered the New World reported back, and an amount of Arcanean (?) population is forming communities in the NW. There are multiple tensions between the "cousin" races, and things are starting to look ugly when murders start happening on the important people of arcanum.. Expect hexagram amulets :p

One of the prominent figures in this game, which is set a hundred years forward from the prequel, is a elf mage who supposedly once saved the world. Not many in the world believe him, but he is now the head of the leading intercontinental trading company.. And don't forget the young Panarii human, his assistant, who's somehow survived for over a century, and not oldening. :-o

The idea's also been that the player starts out as an adventurer that just arrived to the NW to seek adventure, and gets drawn into the old elf's plans, and slowly finds out what is happening to Arcanum's royalty and industrial leaders. Another prominent figure I've been thinking of is G.L.'s son.

Edit: I'll start adding key characters and towns

    Key characters:

    Virgil Brummond:
Virgil is found at the start of the game as the main character exits the vessel he arrived with. Virgil offers you an assignment and asks you to meet him in another town once you've stocked up on supplies in the starting town. He's G'en Kha's assistant/follower, and is a rather skilled necromancer (He's evil virgil in this mod).

    G'en Kha:
Kha is the main character of the original arcanum game. He's an elf that basically runs the greatest import/export company that operates between NW and Arcanum. He's also a considerable figure among mages because of his talents, and the tales of what he's done.

    Gendral Moorlight:
Gendral is a moon elf, and offers the evil alternative to G'en Kha and Virgil. Grav is his main servant. Depending on which side you choose, the other side will send assassins after you.

    Grav Darkroot:
Grav is a high troll mage that you can speak with after meeting Virgil to trigger the evil story. Choosing sides will be possible for quite a while, just so one wrong line won't ruin your game. Grav will tell you to travel to a High Troll town in the opposite direction as the town where you can meet Virgil.

    Satyr:
Satyr is a healer/fighter similar to Virgil. He'll evolve according to your decisions, with more choices than for Virgil in Arcanum (no offense to Troika).

    Key towns:

    Goodwill:
This is the starting town, a port town slightly larger than Shrouded Hills (It's used for more.. lower-class travelling) It has some basic quests and services.

    Witchswamp:
The High troll willage where Grav asked you to meet him. You'll also meet Gendral Moorlight here, who'll , step by step, give you a quest to assassinate Francis G. Willoughsby and King Auguste Farad II.

Well, that's it for now. More information as my thoughts on this progress. :D
