Ok here is how it works. First choose which invensource file you wish to use. Invensource1 is the one where shops do not show everything at once and invensource2 is where they will. Select only one of these files to use. Then rename it removing the number at the end of the name. After that move it into the data/rules folder that you may have to create in the main arcanum folder. After you do this it should work fine. As with the other shop hacks you will have to sleep once before any of the stores will change the inventory and with the first file it may be more then once depending on what item you are looking for.
Well, I suppose most of the items I added this time were not too hard to find just a few were the most complained about. And there were no added weapons or armor to stores which I am thinking about. Oh course in the first file some of the percentage rate of appearing for some items are lower in some shops then others just to keep it somewhat realistic, but they will eventually appear. What I mean by the last statement is you are more likely to find the new items in a city general store then in a rural one.
To clarify, hard to find doesn't mean hard to find in the entire game. It means hard to find IN that particular shop. Each shopkeeper has a list of items they COULD have, with a percentage chance that they're going to have it. Each day, the game generates the shopkeeper's inventory based on that list. What the hack does is make everything that they COULD have show up EVERY day (you have to make the game regenerate the shopkeeper's inventory by waiting a day after installing the hack, obviously). All that "hard to find" means is that some items that a shopkeeper COULD have have a low chance of showing up (like 1%, 2%, 5%). Hope that clears things up.
i understood that and i got the old hack to work and get all the schematics and shit like that but the point is does the invensource2.mes file do anything than add kathorn crystals and heart stones and what not to certain shops because the only thing it did was that and nothing else and the invensource1.mes file did absolutely nothing
Well you are right about invensource2 it adds those items only. The same thing is true about invensource1 only difference is in 1 they have different percent rates of coming up in the shops which are more in tune to how a shop works without the hack for everything. Some items show up more but I know everyone I added will show up eventually.
Well that basicly covers what I added. In my first attempt I didn't want to add to much or add really important quest items. So mostly I added gemstones and offerings. If I do more expect to find more items placed in other shops and such. Also like in my current version of the invensource1 file is the new garbage cans. Now there are slim chances of finding good items in one that someone may have thrown out by mistake. Though I wouldn't expect these items to be in the show all inventory version as it would make it too easy to attain.
is it possible to make every shop have every basic items in the game not covering quest items only like elite machined plate (if it exists) that would be cool
Well I believe one could add most of the items listed in description.mes. Which I checked and don't see any elite machined plate on so that would not be added if it exists.
I never tried the inventory hack. If I remove the hack, will I maintain the format of the game or do I need to re-install it?
If you use the hack and then decide you don't want it and delete it. The game will revert back to the file that is in the dat files. So the answer you are seeking is no you will not have to reinstall or anything to either use a hack or get rid of one.
