Here' you go, the opening lines of Arcanum's code (provided in binary-form, of course)!

    Code:
    01000100 01000101 00100111 01110011 00100000 01101010 01101111 01101011 01100101 01110011 00100000 01110011 01110101 01100011 01101011 00100000 01100001 01101100 01101101 01101111 01110011 01110100 00100000 01100001 01110011 00100000 01101101 01110101 01100011 01101000 00100000 01100001 01110011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100100 01101111 00100000 01100110 01101111 01110010 00100000 01110100 01110010 01100001 01101110 01110011 01101100 01100001 01110100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01110100 01101000 01101001 01110011 00101110

can you give me the code for the entire game and not JUST the opening lines? I need to figure how big a rock I have to use when carving the code into it (patched of coarse).

... I could, but before I do, you should probably convert it from binary to ascii, so that you can read the lines. If you still want me to, I suppose I could.

There'll always be enthusiasts. That's why nifty software like DOSBOX have been made. The computers of tomorrow will definitely run on completely different platforms than those of today, but that won't keep some nerds from writing emulators that can run their old Win 98/XP games. As long as you have an Arcanum disc, you should be alright really.

That was my same outlook over the years as I sold all my 8-bit Nintendo carts to fund SNES carts. Then I sold them 1 by 1 to by PSX games. Without emulators, I would've never thought it possible to go back and relive the classics. I'm hoping one day the same can be said for the 2D isometric RPG era of computer games. Dosbox has helped so far. Hopefully the advent of Windows Vista will speed up the process. Though I'll admit, one series that has withstood the test of time and several different OS's is Fallout. From Win 95 to Vista, I've never had ANY issues running FO 1 or 2.

Yea that is true. And if all else fails the community could backwards engineer the .exe and tinker around with it to patch the game to run manually. But I'm sure no one wants to do that...

I kinda figure, that in the future when .exe files have been made obsolete by a much cooler file extension, a bunch of nerds will have created the emulator you need. Heck, I foresee plenty of competing emulators being rated in computer magazines. Because it's bound to happen, that's why.

That's how all my problems get solved. I wait back and let the nerds figure it out. If only those nerds could make me a cloth map out of 0's and 1's...

Yeah, then the next step would be for them to make me a life-like replica of Denise Richards out of 0's and 1's and it's "goodbye" free time.

Sorry to respond to an older thread. Just visiting after deciding to reinstall the game and fire up some old memories. I've got the disk in question, I can upload it or post pictures if someone wants it (assuming that's ok to do)? I got the disk as a pre-order gift from ebgames (or gamestop, whatever it was back in the day). It does indeed exist and it's nothing special at all.

yes I believe Terra Arcanum would like to put it in it's downloads section. I hope they do.

tho it is probably just another thing for the moders to fix.

I'm at work now but as soon as I get home, I'll toss some pics up. It looks exactly like the pic on the first page. Where should I upload it to, anyone have some space for me?

And while you're at it, a few (and by few I mean many) screenies from in-game.
