Ah yes, I remember a guy I talked to and said the exactly same thing. He mentioned the rustling of the coins in Money too.
Shadowstrider was his nick and he liked Metallica. Now I love Metallica too (but not St-Bloody-Anger) but I still think Pink Floyd is great.
    Thankyouverymuch.

    Do you like Metallica, Icairus?

I was just watching A Tribute to Freddie Mercury concert. It had Metallica, by the way, along with Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses and such...
Honestly, I like neither Guns nor Leppard. Leppard had a good song or two, but it's just your average soul-less rock.
David Bowie, on the other hand...

Maybe I've missed the boat, but for those who haven't heard this....

If you que up Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", and pause it, then start the movie Wizard of Oz and mute the sound, then un-pause Floyd right after the Metro-Goldwyn Meyer Lion roars the second time, then all through the movie, the music, beat, lyrics, etc., seem to match. The Money bit, also during the first bit of the movie, I remember someone hammering on a fence, and the lyrics say something about tap-tapping, or something.

    Ear-ee.

Death, I really like some Metallica, but I have always thought that the majority of their stuff sucked. I thought that before it came about that all of the stuff they made sucked.
And I didn't mention the money, I mentioned the clocks, although the money is just as bad.

And, the truth is, I like Dark Side of the Moon. On radio, when I somehow manage to get it after the horrible noises. When they actually start making music instead of making noises that could alone be a valid reason for suicide.

And I think that as far as things lining up, I really don't think it is a set up thing. I think it is highly possible that there are plenty of other movies that somehow line up with music, they just don't have enough totally stoned fans to try it correctly.

And as far as the wizard of Oz, does anyone else know the actual significance of what it was written about? The whole thing is actually a political statement. Which is why it is so important that the shoes are SILVER and not fucking red. Damn them.

Well, I honestly only think of Metallica as a band of fucking greedy bastards still I like quite a lot of their songs.

Have you ever heard "Wish You Were Here" or "Hey You" by Pink Floyd?

Actually, that whole Wizard of Oz thing was a coincidence. Rolling Stone also queued DSotM up with a few other movies (Matrix and Goodfellas among others) and while the same symmetry didn't happen, there were freaky coincidences as well. From what I remember of the article, just as Morpheus is explaining the Matrix to Neo, you can hear Water singing "All that you touch, all that you see," yadda yadda yadda.

Has anyone heard the new PJ Harvey album? Any good? I just hope it's not completely whacked out and screamy again...

Yes. G!YBE's "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" and "Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada E.P." are likely my favorite works.

I just got back from a weekend in Syracuse, NY, which is about an hour north of where I live. I was staying with my good friend Jonas (the fat kid in the firebreathing and formal trio pictures, if anyone remembers them), and we went to an amazing hardcore show at a church youth center venue called The Furnace. Zao was the headlining band, and that was the main reason I was there, them being my favorite band of all time. The other bands were The Chariot (featuring Norma Jean alumni if anyone knows who they are), Scarlet, Twelve Tribes, and Remembering Never. Remembering Never is a Satanist band, which is funny considering the venue. The drummer had a t-shirt that said GOD FREE, and one of the t-shirts on their merch table said "No God, Know Peace." How original! Dumb Satanists. They also had a shirt with a pentacle/Satan goat-head graphic on it, and a bunch of vegan and save the whales flyers. Does anyone else think it's funny that Satanists would be animal-rights activists? What about all the goat sacrificing and what-not?
Anyway, all the bands were good, but Twelve Tribes and Remembering Never were pretty much your garden-variety angry hardcore bands, although the singer of Twelve Tribes had an awesome set of dreads that reached his ass, and he wasn't even black. Zao definitly deserved to headline, as they were amazingly tight. Five Year Winter (my favorite song of all time, search for the title in the forum archives to see the lyrics) sounded exactly like it does on the album, which shows how skillful they are.

Just an aside, you're a dumb fucker, Icairus, to say anything negative about Pink Floyd. Cliched as it is to like them, that band is fucking amazing, and you can't say anything different.

Not a big fan of harcore. More into Powermetal, Hard Rock and Gothic (I am somewhat of a goth, without the 'slicing wrists' bit).

Not much special about satanists being animal-rights activists. You should think of 'satanism' as a club, not as a religion and you'll understand what I mean.

I've been listening to a lot of the same old stuff for the last month and and 12 days, but the bands I've really had fun listening to are Against Me!, Leftover Crack, the Screeching Weasels, Yaphet Kotto, Minor Threat, Fugazi, and Frank Zappa.

I'll start by saying I hate the black eyed peas. I LOATHE Avril Lavigne. One time, I was watching a video clip show, and the black eyed peas came on. I then thought, well, it's a good thing that there's another video clip program on another channel. To my horror, I saw Avril Lavigne, singing some shit about hw she was going to kick some guy's ass. I turned off the TV and ran into my bedroom, and cried. My favourite band is Nirvana, and it has been for a while, which is pretty impressive, seeing as my favourite band normal changes frequently. Bands that have come close are Aerosmith and Slipknot.( I love Eat the Rich, by Aerosmith) At first, I thought Metal was bad, because Metallica was the first metal band I was exposed to and I thought they were pretty shit. Lacking in beat or something.

Well since slipknot would be my least favorite band, I can understand why you don't like Metallica.

I've been listening to Nightwish's last album: Once.
A very good album. A bit different from Wishmaster and Child of the Century and more varied.

    Wow, a teenager liking Nirvana. How...unexpected :D.

I also forgot to mention - I also like what I believe is called post-rock. Mùm (whose stuff I haven't heard) and Sigur Ros (whose stuff I tend to love) are probably the biggest names in that area. Sigur Ros are fucking awesome, I could listen to their music nonstop for hours.

I'm a big fan of Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Dark Moor, and Rhapsody... I hate Metallica*, and I like a couple Nirvana songs, though I don't worship it like many of the idiots at my school do. Metallica, in my opinion is rock's equivalent of the Backstreet Boys. well, except Metallica had a couple good songs (see * at bottom)... with the exception of the two songs named below, I have a hard time telling one song from the next.

    Rhapsody is great.

And yeah, Metallica is commercial from the beginning but only a little punk-wannabe will hate a band on basis because it's commercial.

    NeverNever Land is "Enter Sandman".

You are obviously a tasteless, uneducated douche-bag who likes it in the ass. How can you possibly compare Metallica to the Backstreet Boys? The Backstreet Boys are useless, talentless dancers, while Metallica is an amazing, skillful, revolutionary band. Kirk Hammett is one of the greatest guitarists in the world, attaining almost to the likes of Phill Keaggy, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton. Metallica is the original straight metal band. By your "two only good songs" you display your ignorance of the band. Like DEATH said, "NeverNever Land" is actually called "Enter Sandman," which is on the Black Album (technically self-titled), when the band's musical skills began to take a downturn. It was the death of Cliff Barton that did it, but I'll address that later. "I Dissapear" is a good song, but not a good Metallica song. It was written for the Mission: Impossible soundtrack. Everything up to and including Master of Puppets was good, the "Black Album" was good in some parts, but not as good as the old stuff. Ride The Lightning is the best Metallica album ever, followed closely by Kill 'Em All. Ride the Lightning includes great songs like "For Whom the Bell Tolls," "Creeping Death," and most of all, "Call of Ktulu." The latter is the greatest metal instrumental track I've ever heard, 9 minutes in length.
Cliff Barton died in a bus crash right after Ride the Lightning. He was an amazing bassist, and when Jason Newstead was hired on as a replacement, the band began to get worse. Master of Puppets was still as good as the preceeding, but it began to get worse from there. Load and Reload both suck, and although some of S&M is good, it's just not Metallica. Then, the travesty known as St. Anger. When I heard the title track on the radio, I knew that the Gods of Metal had indeed fallen, and far had they tumbled. This cacophany issuing forth from my car's stereos was not the musical beauty and genius of the elder days, but the heresy known as Numetal! I wept that day, wept bitterly for the utter destruction of a once-great band. A part of me had died, and I haven't been the same man since.

Actually, most teenagers like R&B, as well as pop and pop rock, like Maroon 5 ( I therefore conclude that any band with a number [in numerals] in their name is shit. Especially when the number is there for no reason or to represent how many are on the band) Mercury 4, Maroon 5, S Club 7 etc. I don't really like popular rock music, like Jet( those not living in Australia probably don't know who I'm talking about).

(This was written by Wolf and posted by Sea Dog uncompleted becuase my laptop died and when I got it working this was in the browser P.S. Nirvana rock my jocks)
