here's a news acticle that was in my local paper that i've been meaning to post for a while..... made me laugh my ass off.... i really hope this doesn't start a flame war

I'm not condoning the vandalism, but the statue DOES look pretty funny. Hell, I thought they had some sort of covering over the statue when I first looked at it. I guess the statues implacable stare was making someone feel guilty, so they chopped the head and hands off.

Wagga - it's a funny name because it's real!

 

I find it amusing that the article referred to the statue as "The Jesus".

 

that happened during "muck-up week" at the end of last year (what a fine tradition it is) and the people that did it still haven't been caught/found out yet!. all in all i'm pretty impressed with their ability to keep their mouths shut. the first time i saw that picture i thought someone had been watching too much simpsons and had decided to what bart did to the statue of that fake hero, jebidia(sp) springfield. i wonder if that head's sitting on someone's coffee table somewhere...... you could chisel out his head and use it for an ashtray :-o ...... now that's a conversation piece!.

 

You know, I was rather surprised to find that it wasn't Charles who started this thread. It's probably the first religeous-type thread that he hasn't started! :-o
