Damn, that's from Izmir. Although it's in the villages, which explains it. The villagers around here usually prefer donkey though. The governor's damn middle age explanation is the result of teh AKP government. Oh, and looking at the picture made me think it might be photoshopped. The proportions and the perspective on the face seem a little odd. Probably not though. Daily Telegraph was a quality paper on the conservative side, with good international news, right? EDIT: Wait, I thought the photo was from the British Daily Telegraph, but there is also an Australian Daily Telegraph? If they are not related, this may increase the chance of a fake depending on the quality of the paper.
Aw, would you look at that. It's smilin'. : ) That's one happy pizza-covered corpse if I've ever seen one. Usage of the word "evident" should be forbidden for some people, and those people should be killed at once the moment they break the ban in order to prevent the spread of stupidity. I'd say handing such a specimen over to scientists would be the only wise thing to do. Any local biologically-oriented university would be a good target. Idiots.
I found the Turkish link. I may translate it later. But the veterinary says that it is of common occurance around there, probably because of Vitamin A overuseage. http://arama.hurriyet.com.tr/arsivnews.aspx?id=13439268 Oh, and I wouldn't call Turkish universities very scientific, especially with the recent "political developments". The only few that exist are good in engineering, commerce and medicine, and maybe law. Not much other than that.
People are missing the bigger picture. The sheep are experimenting with genetic engineering in order to create an entire race of sheeple loyal to them! They must be stopped, and the villagers got the right mind. Burn them! I'm thinking the torches and pickforks, not to mention a large crowd of yelling villagers wielding said items in a fashion reminescent of a classical B-grade Frankenstein flick, is the culprit for this particular instance of the mystical sign of dogs not wanting to approach.
