 You know, for a moment there, I actually thought the guy was serious about the whole thing. Haha. It's always nice to start the day with some laughter. Solaris, were do you find all of this stuff?
Ephebian fools! The Disc is round, flat, and carried on the backs of four enormous elephants, themselves standing on the back of Great A'tuin, a giant turtle!* *Terry Pratchett is right. About everything. I mean it.
You'll be surprised what you can find by simply following the news close enough. And, of course, the internet is full of funny stuff
I know there are a couple of Flat Earth societies out there. Some are serious, some are not. I think the Internation Flat Earth Society is one of the non-serious ones... Almost totally unrelated to the conversation I realise, but an interesting tidbit nonetheless.
Ah, that was good. Specially the last part  Whoever wrote that didn't seem to be serious about it, but who knows? There are so many crazy people nowadays... Keep those news coming, Solaris! P.S - Settler, I read Small Gods from the Discworld series, and it states clearly that it's Omnians who think the Disc is spherical (the guy who is credited with writing the paper about the Turtle hypothesis is Ephebian, moreover). I agree about Terry Pratchett, though.
1)Silvara that was what i was gonna say about Pratchett :-( . 2)The site was like really convincing*cough cough* I showed it to a friend of mine who is really religious, and even he had some (not much though ) fun reading it.
Whoops, my bad. It's been a long time since I read SG ... But I just finished Jingo, and loved it - right up there with Night Watch as my favourite TP book. ***SPOILERS*** Carrot organising the soccer match with the Klatchians was gold, and Vimes tuning out during the first try at the Convivium was good, too...but the ending was the best I've ever read from TP..."there was only the chase"...briliiant . Did it occur to anyone else that martial law is declared whenever Rust is around ?
I hope that noone else wasted too much time reading the second site  I actually sat at my PC for an hour and a half reading some man's rantings about there being four days or something. :/ I now feel dumber having read that. :-(
Yeah, TimeCube gradually degenerates from trying to convince you, to full-on insulting your inferior intelligence ...
Whoa. What a complete waste of time. I made my way through the first part of that thing and then just scrolled down to see if there was anything interesting - which, of course, there isn't. It's just a very long senseless insult of modern culture with bits of anarchism, conservationism, too much watching The Matrix, and tons of nonsense. Guaranteed to actually lower your I.Q. after reading! I devoutly hope whatever half-assed schizophrenic wrote that is confined in an insane asylum. I mean, this is even worse than David Icke and his Lizard plot - and that's saying a lot. The whole text can be resumed as 'You are an evil idiot, and so is the rest of society', written by some guy with too much time on his hands, an Internet connection and seriously needing a psychiatrist.
Whatcha got right cheres is one a dims gravesdiggers. If you don't know, one of the rules is not to dig up old posts because everybody's done talking about it. Since you're a newbie I don't think anybody is going to get really mad. Ahh You Idiot!! (Though, I consider myself a newbie too.)
Sorry Sorry... I didn't know... I hope i'm not 'grave-digging' by posting thise...but, well... I wanted to say sorry....
No, you're not gravedigging now - you do so when you post on a thread nobody's answered to in a while. Read this topic (if you haven't yet): http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9686. Here are the main rules of this forum. Enjoy!
