I've heard that people used to fill their boots with charcoal when they went badger hunting. Badgers bite until they hear the sound of bones breaking, and will therefore let go when they hear the coals being crunched.

All the badgers I've encountered have just run away though. I declare them to be pussies.

I've also heard that story, but with knäckebröd instead of charcoal.

All the badgers I've seen has just been sleeping on the road.

So... is that one still good to make a brush out of, or no?

I don't see why not, but most badger hair used in brush production comes from China, badgers are actually considered a pest there so villagers in western China can get permits to hunt them, eat the meat and sell the pelts.

The meat is said to taste somewhat like pork. At least, in the olden days badgers were known as "the poor man's pig".

And since everyone knows that the only meat ever served in China is cat, it is understandable that they seek variety in badgers.
