Hello! Some days ago I decided to replay this wonderful game. Before I've played as a mage, a warrior, a thief etc etc but I've never been 100% tech and used guns and such. Well i got all the points in electricity and i was going to make a Tesla Rod and then a Tesla Gun. However when i make the tesla rod *poof!* the reagents disappear but the tesla rod doesnt appear. I make a tesla rod but i dont get a tesla rod....basicly i just throw away a shocking staff and a tesla coil. Can i fix this somehow? Are there any other items that are known to just disappear? Edit: oh yeah almost forgot. I play the game on Vista 32-bit and i play v1074
Yeah im sure. The reason i patched was because some items got invicible in my inventory but when i did that auto clean up in the inv i could see empty spaces sorted in. However now i dont get those spaces. Also when i combine the items i lose weight in my inventory.
When you combine items and the product does not fit, it goes on the ground, if I'm not mistaken. So, did you check the ground?
hmm i dont think so :S how do i know if i do? i mean when i put it in my comp can read it and i could install from it...
Welcome to the forum, TheChef! Although I hadn't heard of this particular problem before, I'd try running the install disk on Repair mode, then, if you can, start with a save made prior to the problem manifesting itself. If you have no usable old saves, then start a new game. Oh - And go to the Arcanum/modules/Arcanum/maps folder and delete the 85 or so oddly-named files with no extention that's in there. This'll force the game to take a fresh inventory.
Yay it worked! Thanks for all your help guys and thanks for the welcome I was really happy when i saw this arcanum forum. Most games don't live so long so when i googled arcanum forum i thought all i was going to find was a dead forum.... Guess it just shows what an outstanding game this is
Gosh I love hearing people say that. And it's true. I got my copy something like four or five years after it came out, and my aunt got hers just last year (My aunt the Geoffrey fangirl, god how I adore this game), and we still both think it's one of the greatest games we've ever played. (Note to self: Send aunt my copy of Baldur's Gate 2 for a while.)
