I am VERY new to Arcanum. So far I have only gotten as far as the Shrouded Hills. After arriving, I talk to the boy, go to the hotel and some time shortly thereafter, there is a blue system error screen and the computer has a VERY, VERY major system error. I have to reboot the computer to get out of it. It happens in no other game but Arcanum.

I have a Sony Athlon 1 ghs, 128mg ram with plenty of disk space, and am running Windows ME.

The version of Arcanum I am running is 1.0.7.4 I believe

Anyone know what the problem might be. I've tried everything.

Welcome to the forum GaryLeeB!!! :wavey:

What do you mean by "sony" athlon?

Anyways, yes there is a lot of crash related bugs in the game. You might wanna try running the game in safe mode, to get through the part that crashes. Another tip: SAVE CONSTANTLY!!!

    More info!

What graphics card/chip, what drivers, what sound card, what drivers, what motherboard is it using, and so on.

"What graphics card/chip, what drivers, what sound card, what drivers, what motherboard is it using, and so on."

I can find everything but the manual that would tell that information. From the System Properties in Windows I get the following:

Graphics Adapter: Silicon Integrated Systems SiS 730s with SiS630m.vxd and vmm32.vxd.

Sound: Silicon Integrated Systems SiS 7018 Audio Driver with SiS 7018.sys, vmm32.vxd, mmdevldr.vxd, 7018dos.exe, and uninst.exe.

Motherboard: No information, though it refers to ACPI Bios.

Does this help or do you need me to take the cover off and look for labels inside. I can't figure out where I put those manuals!!!

    Gary

SiS 730 is most likely your motherboard make, since that's a motherboard chipset.

As to why you're crashing, that's fairly new hardware, I believe. You might want to check Sony's site and see if there aren't updates for your model of computer.

Are you running anything in the background? Some programs don't particularly like games and vice versus, like ICQ, virus checkers, and so on.
