There were some real gullible people on Diablo realms. It used to amaze me in the ealry days when people would come on and say something like "Server going down in 10 minutes, all people whisper me your acct/pword to avoid losing character" or something equally transparent, and people would actually fall for it.

I was more amused than amazed at the people who would come on and say "Some guy told me he'd teach me hacking then stole all my items."

And that despite the fact that it on the right side of the screen next to the chat window said, in big red letters: "Blizzard will NEVER ask for your password. Do not give out your password to anyone!" You don't have small messages in your keyring saying "don't give your keys away!". It's like a modern day "wallet inspector" scam. Unbelievable.

I think it's sad that people trust so easily. I think it's more sad that you can't trust anyone though.

Actually, Blizzard didn't originally have that message there. They probably assumed people would not be so bloody stupid. They put that message there after people perfectly capable of finishing Diablo on every difficulty level turned out to be slightly less clued up than a 5 yr old with a firm grip on his lollipop.
