After searching unsuccesfully through the forum for a solution, I put my problem to all of you. Perhaps someone will be able to help. I tried to summon an air elemental while too low on stamina to actually cast the spell. (Yes, I know that was stupid.) It summoned an elemental, though the spell fizzled. The elemental remains in my followers sidebar, and a circle in the ground lights up when you put the cursor over its picture on the side, and it is commandable, but it is not visible, cannot attack or be attacked, and cannot have spells cast on it. Because it's still considered in my party, I'm getting a bad reaction when I talk to people in, for example, the elven town. Is there any way to force the creature out of my party? I am using the most recent patch, as well, so that was no help. Please post your advice.
i have had this problem with the create undead and orcish champion. i solved the create undead problem by going into the wilderness and i had an encounter. the subject of the spell became visble and was combat-capable during the encounter and then i killed it and my problems were solved this may or may not work
I had tried that previously. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I was able to fight just fine, but the air elemental remained invisible and did not fight or get attacked.
OK, first, a stupid question. Is it in your spel maintenance box? If so, you should be able to cancel the spell. I assume not, but, well, I had to ask. Second, try using a tech item that damages anything, even party members, within its blast radius. Tell all your real followers to wait somewhere nearby, give fall out order, which captain invisible should follow, walk away a little to protect yourself some. Maybe cast "body of air" on yourself, and make sure the dynamite hits the elemental. Third, what happens if you click on the portrait? Can you give it orders? Does "see hidden" reveal it? Just tossin out ideas. Good luck.
First of all, no it's not in my maintenance box. *Nod* That was my first idea. Third, I can give it orders, yes. Can't give it the "wait" order that'd remove it from the party, though. And see hidden doesn't reveal it. I'll try using the damaging tech items, if I can find one. Thanks for the advice.
i dont think thatll work, youll either have to go into the arcanum character editor(download) and see if you can delete it from your followers. this may or may not work as i am unfamiliar with the editor or youll just have to restart your game
People only usually do that after they have a problem like this. Why don't you try buying a scroll of Disperse Magic and using that?
Disperse magic doesn't work, unfortunately. I've tried both scrolls of it and the spell itself; neither does the trick. Oddly enough, people seem to be ignoring the fact that it's around, now, though, so there's really no problem. Thanks for all the advice, though!
