Strength and Firearms

How important is Strength , in your opinion , to a gunslinger. This , i believe, is related to another question of preference.. speed versus power.

Very interested in reading everyone's opinion. If you people don't post i'll have to level two gunslingers.. save this poor man some time!

 

Well the tesla Gun has 1 speed (6 if apprentice) and it does 10-80 ED.

The mechanized gun... with the gun patch I have does 5-30 and has 25 speed. So it means 1 shot for 1 action point.

The Elephant gun is heavy... I think it needs 12 strength but it does around 40-70 or something like that...

 

IIRC, STR affects your hit % with guns, not action points.

 

That's right. I think that for each ST point you lack it takes 10% hit chance... I think.

So for ex. if you have 8 ST and you need 10 instead of having... let's say 98% hit chanc,e you'll have 78%.

 

Falling below the MSR also increases the chance of a crit miss. It's little wonder that Franklyn Payne has so many adventures where his Elephant Gun flakes on him. There are a large number of firearms in the game & only a few that have a high MSR. A low ST gunslinger should stick with the Fine Relvover / Sharpshooter's pistol, the Hand Cannon, & the Warbringer. Or learn Strength of Earth.
