Ok I played once a half-elf archer trying to balance magick and technology but I noticed a strange situation when instead of 0 the tech-magick indicator was showing 15 on magick, could someone tell old jankiel why :/
The most likely exlpanation is that you learned a powerful spell or two and didn't balance it with a technological degree or a tech skill.
Hmmm... could be equipment dependant. You didn't, by any chance, put on the Dark Helm? It will give you a permanent +20 boost to Magickal Aptitude and a -20 penalty on alignment at each levelup. Could you tell us what level you were at, and what equipment you were using? Do you remember that, or was it too long ago?
The tech-magic balance of one's character is regulated by learning spells, schematics or tech skills. Each spell adds+5% magick aptitude, each schematic or rank of technological skill adds +5% tech. Three races have inherent bonuses: dwarves come with +15% tech aptitude, elves with +15% magick, half-elves with 5% magick. Just do the math and find out. The only item that can alter your aptitude is the Dark Helm. The ground you stand on also matters. When in Tulla or in the mage district of Tarant, your aptitude shifts towards more megic, when in the factory district it changes towards more tech. If you want to see your real aptitude, check your profile when you're out of town.
Well lvl 36, 2 levels on chemistry and electricity and 2 spells from dark necromancy and water. the only magick item i had were the magick robes I think it depends on the ground you stand like solaris wrote.
